RED SHOES
I saw pair of red shoes happily dancing away,
I started dancing too, well what can I say?
We danced round the room and out through the doors,
We danced up the hills and tapped past the moors,
Oh how we waltz through the day and tangoed through the night
We skipped over dusk and rumbaed out of sight.
I stopped by the sea just to have a break,
But no stopping the little red shoes could take
I was going to say goodbye and send it on its way,
But I wished so much to keep it, and asked if I may,
It stopped for just a moment, considering I suppose,
But it just went on moving, a life of dance it chose.
I've looked for other shoes,
One's that can dance,
But all the shoes are normal and don't stand a chance.
I often check for movement upon my kitten heels,
But they've never danced before and don't how it feels.
I fondly think of red shoes and sometimes reminisce,
I fondly think of the dancing my one and only bliss,
Whatever happened to red shoes?
For my life is such a bore,
Across the world it's still dancing, of that I am sure.
