Wringing her hands Aurora took a step forward and knocked on the door, a soft breath leaving her lips as she did. Seconds passed before shuffling from the other side could be heard and the door opened to reveal Charles, a smile on his face.

"Come on in, and please ignore the mess, my brother's visiting and leaves his shit everywhere" Aurora gave a small laugh and stepped forward, Charles closing the door behind her. Looking around Aurora was struck by the obvious wealth presented in the house, from the area it was located in to the decor. She should have realized earlier from the ridiculously expensive looking engagement and wedding rings that were burning a hole through her shirt from where they sat settled on a gold chain, but to be honest she had thought her own money went into those - now she wasn't so sure.

"Your house is lovely" Charles smiled down at her as they walked further into the apartment.

"Do you want anything to drink? there's water or coffee," Charles asked as they reached the kitchen. She shook her head, too nervous to even think of trying to get something down her throat.

"So... we got married" The tension between the two grew even thicker at Aurora's words, both feeling awkward at the mention of what occurred the night before.

"Indeed we did. Could be worse though, I lucked out with someone as gorgeous as you mon amour" Charles couldn't stop the smirk making its way onto his face as he remembered what led up to their decision to get married. Aurora blushed, thinking back to his lips on hers back under the lights on the dock in the harbor.

Before more could be said a crash was heard and both whirled around to see a glass on the floor and a dumbstruck Arthur Leclerc standing there.

"CHARLES YOU GOT MARRIED-" Before his younger brother could do any more damage Charles cut him off.

"it's not what it looks like!" At this both Aurora and Arthur raised an eyebrow, for it was indeed, what it looked like. But before anyone else could get a word in, a choked laugh could be heard from Arthur's phone, both Lorenzo and Pascal being on facetime.

"CHARLES MARC HERVÈ PERCEVAL LECLERC VOUS VOUS ÊTES MARIÉ ET VOUS NE NOUS N'AVEZ MÊME JAMAIS PRÉSENTÉ À ELLE AVANT ! C'EST INACCEPTABLE NOUS VENONS MAINTENANT!" Charles flinched at his mother's harsh tone before focusing back on Arthur with a glare in his eye.
[ CHARLES MARC HERVÈ PERCEVAL LECLERC YOU GOT MARRIED AND NEVER EVEN INTRODUCED US TO HER BEFOREHAND! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE WE ARE COMING OVER RIGHT NOW!"]

"she's right you know, how come you never mentioned her?" Arthur said, his hands up in a defensive position.

Charles rubbed the back of his neck, looking sheepishly at the floor before grabbing Aurora's hand and dragging her to the living room.

rory
your family was lovely

charles
sorry about that btw
and i hope your ok with not being
able to back out as easily now
mamma won't let it go anytime soon
especially since she likes you
😭

rory
it's ok
if i'm honest being married to you
isn't the worst thing in the world
and i don't think we can legally
get it annulled anyway
also divorce doesn't seem wise,
especially without a prenup or anything
not to mention the legal hassle

charles
you seem to have thought about this

rory
i'm a bit of an over thinker
but i'd love to meet up tmwr again
figure we should get to know
each other if we'll be stuck together

charles
how about coffee and brunch?
i know a spot

rory
that sounds lovely 🥰
