Jayce rubbed his hands together, trying to generate heat between his gloves before shoving them into his coat pockets. He watched on as Viktor secured your scarf around your neck, a smile adorning his face.

"You guys ready?" Jayce interrupted because as much as he liked seeing his two best friends so sickeningly in love, he was absolutely starving. You shot him a smile from the top of the stairs, grabbing Viktor's hand and all but dragging him into the streets of Piltover.

"Yep! Where are we eating?" You asked, and instead of answering, Jayce just tilted his head, indicating for the two of you to follow him.

Jayce had decided to treat the three of you to dinner, the winter solstice his reason for celebration. The city would practically be shut down for the holidays by the end of the week, and he was running out of excuses to draw the both of you away from work until then. The winters in Piltover, while stunning, were positively freezing- but as the snow fizzled out, and with the three of you having been stuck in the lab for the last three weeks, Jayce decided it would've been nice to walk to the restaurant- and as you all walked together, admiring the solstice lights and decorations, Jayce knew it was the right choice. Besides, the walk wasn't a particularly long one, the man remembering how Viktor had joint troubles associated with the cold.

The mindless chatter you all shared left you warm and happy as you approached the restaurant, you excitedly telling them about the souvenir Sky had picked up for you when she was visiting her family. Jayce watched Viktor's expression, something soft- but dazed as he looked at you speak. It was a look he saw often enough on the man's face, whenever you spoke, Viktor seemed to be snapped into a trance, warmth overflowing from him. But this expression was different, and Jayce just couldn't place what was off.

"-And it's like this little moon, right, but if you pull the tiny star attached to it- it glows! And it sings a little song that goes du di di doo- what the fuck am I talking about, I can literally just show you-" You tapered off, digging through your coat pockets for your keys, only to come up empty-handed. Jayce and Viktor watch as you frown, your brows furrowing in confusion as you pat yourself down. Moving onto your pant pockets, your frown only seemed to deepen, "fuck, I left my keys," You look to Viktor, "how're we gonna get into our apartment?"

"It's okay, my dear, we can just use mine," Viktor said, fingers gripping on his crutch as he went to open the door for you both, but you only shook your head,

"You left yours at home, remember? We had a whole conversation about it,"

"I don't recall this conversation," He did, in fact, recall the conversation, and you huffed, obviously not believing him,

"Whatever, I'll go get them,"

"Can't you get them after dinner?" Jayce said, the warmth of the restaurant calling to him, but you were stubborn, he knew this, Viktor knew this, you knew this,

"No, I'll wanna go home after dinner," and the way you leaned into Viktor as you said it left little to the imagination, the man tensing, and Jayce rolled his eyes,

"Then I'll go with you," Viktor started, but you shut him down, your eyes darting to his leg, and the way he was relying on his crutch more than usual,

"Nope, it's ok- it'll literally take, like, fifteen minutes," You insisted, ushering them through the doors of the restaurant, into the warm reception area, "and I'll take the tram back if it gets too cold,"
