A/N: Yeah ... I reworked the first two parts to this short story.
As best I could.
I own nada of CG but I hope you enjoy ... whoever's reading this.
"Y/n ... Y/n ... Y/N!"
You get awoken up by the calling of your name. Your head resting on your folded arms snaps up in attention to who spoke out only to spot violet eyes trained on you, exasperatedly looking at you.
"For crying out loud, Y/n, this is the second time in a row you've fallen asleep during class. Be grateful you sit behind me, otherwise you'd have your neck strung out by the teacher."
You then noticed students parting as class was over "Mmm ... sorry ... Lelouch." You mumble sleepily as you rub your tired eyes – wait a minute. "Didn't you tell me those exact same words to me yesterday?"
His usually calm stoic features suddenly went to entirely gob smacked. His eyebrow raised in question, his eyes gleamed with bewilderment and suspicion, his lips set in a firm line, "You should have already learned to get it together by now."
But then, his stern face turned into a smug one just before his hand went to ruffle your hair.
"H – Hey!" You couldn't suppress your exclaim.
"You should learn from your experiences and put in more effort to better yourself to ensure I won't repeat myself. I don't intend to be with people I can't count on." He chastised you.
"Hey! Where is all this coming from?"
His eyes fallen half mast as they showed sincerity and tenderness as his lips morphed into a gentle grin "I just ... want you to be okay. That's all."
"O – Okay." You felt breathless, your heart was racing, and you believed that Lelouch was being honest. For some reason, you could somehow tell from the slightest change in expression whether he's putting on a persona or being his true self. Well, as true as you believe him to be. You weren't completely certain as to who the true Lelouch is. At least – not at the moment.
"Now come on, or we'll be late for student council duties and Milly will make us suffer cruel and perverse punishment for it." He visibly shuddered, making you choke out a snort when he took your wrist, pulling you out of your seat and leading you behind him.
Once again, you just stared at his back as he lead the way through the hall, lost in thought at how you couldn't shake off the feeling of deja-vu. Didn't you two do this whole shtick before? Like yesterday?
You then felt the numerous glares you got from every Lelouch fangirl you passed in the halls. "Lelouch, your fanclub is staring at us." You whispered.
"Ignore them. They're irrelevant." He lowly scoffed.
"Ouch." You winced at the harsh remark before seeing you two alone in an empty hallway now. "Well, holding hands will give them the impression we're ... well, dating." You then felt as his fingers weave between yours, attaining a firm hold on your hand.
"And what if we were?"
The chatter from students outside in the courtyards, the clatter of muddled footsteps rooms and halls away, the ringing in your ears paired with you breathing out of your mouth. You gently tugged your hand, still in his, as you felt your stomach tie itself in knots, feeling nervous when you asked the question.
"What?"
You watched from the reflection of the window on your left as his calm face looked back at you; his violet eyes twinkling with speculation, before facing you, looking neutral faced.
