Chapter 1

Setting: hallway
Tap, tap, tap.

           "BOO!" Em jumped at me causing her to get a jump in return from me. "Holy shit Ems!" I took a deep breath, "That scared me so bad I almost crapped myself." I grinned. Em laughed at me then shut my locker.

"C'mon class starts in 2 minutes, plus I heard were getting a new student to the school," Emily pulled me along with her, "Who knows he might be in our class," she said turning to me with a wink.

"He probably won't even be my type, and I have to focus on work and my sick mother." I said, Em looked at me and sighed, just as she was about to speak we heard someone behind us.

"Speaking of sick mother's," Me and Emily turned around to see Ryder and his little group,  "I heard your mom's a cancer!!" Ryder laughed in amusement. My eyes widened and I started tearing up.

"Don't you ever fucking say that about my mom again." I aggressively said back at him.

"What are you gonna do, hm?" Ryder walked up to me with his hands in his pockets. "Hey, back off man." Em said shoving the boy into his group of friends.

"Getting violent now are we?" He smirked.

Ryder quickly threw a kick at my stomach. POW!

And fuck did it hurt. Em ran to my side and put my arm around her and lifted me up.

Then the bell rung. "Ooo, what a classic. Saved by the bell my love." Ryder smiled and walked off.

"That fucking bastard! I'm gonna fucking beat his ass one day and he's gonna fucking die." Em vented out. "Y/n, oh my gosh, are you okay??" Em asked, obviously worried.

My face had turned red from embarrassment and I started crying, a hall monitor seemed to notice us still out in the hall, "Why aren't you guys in- Oh mercy! Are you okay? Let's get you to the nurse ASAP."

Setting: class

I walked into class beside Emily and took my seat at the back. I looked around the room wondering if the new kid was in here yet, to my surprise, he wasn't.

I turned my head to Emily, I started mouthing the words "where is the new kid" she responded with an "I don't know" I thought about for a quick second and spaced out.

-8:56am_9:25am-

Knock, knock

The teacher paused and turned to the door, "Come in!" The door was then open to reveal a staff member and a pale brown haired and brown eyed boy, he seemed to be pretty nervous and kept shaking, I wonder what that was.

I was watching him while he scanned the room and he seemed to stop when he made eye contact with me.

He had pretty lips and a pretty nose. He seemed to realize he had been staring and quickly turned away.

While me and the boy were making eye contact the staff member and the teacher were whispering.

"Ahem, students this is Tobias Erin Rodgers. Toby for short. He has tourettes so please don't make fun of him, treat him like a normal kid. Thank you." The teacher turned to Toby, "Please choose a seat."

Toby looked directly at me, Em noticed this and smirked, "Toby you can take my seat! I'll just sit somewhere else!" Em called out.

I let out a soft gasp and looked at Em. She winked at me, God damnit she knows exactly what she's doing.
