as we walked back towards our quarters the whole ship shook under an impact. alarms started blaring. slowly as I calmed myself I counted off the alarms. fire, hull breach, weapons failure, but then one alarm blared above all the rest.
it was the alarm for enemies boarding. it was an alarm that all soldiers dreaded. then my sense of duty took over. I rushed to the bridge and found a spectacle that tied my gut into knots. all the bridge crew had been killed mercilessly. as I walked through the mass of bodies i saw a small bit of movement.
I slowly walked over with my gun raised. suddenly, an odst burst up from a pile of gore. I could tell he was close to death, but with his last breathe, he whispered one thing.
