Chapter One: The Past

"This tie is going choking me," The young, little boy complained. "Mother is going to get mad if you don't wear it though. Plus, we have to look proper, we're meeting new people! Be happy for once Eita!" The girl said, looking in the mirror to see if her outfit looked good and if she was wearing the outfit correctly. Semi Eita, Prince of Death, was a prince to one of the highest power kingdom, was getting ready to meet another kingdom with his younger sister, Semi Kasumi. And they were having a ton of trouble getting ready.

"Eita! Kasumi! Our guests are almost here! Be ready by then!" Their mother called from the downstairs. "Yes mother!" The two both called. "Just get the maid to fix your stupid dumb tie. We need to hurry and we'll spend hours here if you fix it yourself," His sister rushed him. "Okay okay! Sheesh," Semi said, running down the stairs with his younger sister (A maid did in fact fix it for him on his way downstairs).

"Oh, you two! Just in time! Meet the King and Queen Yamagata, rulers of the Family of Fire!" Their mother said with a smile. The two bowed down as a way to show respect. "Nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you two! My child should be coming any time soon," The king of the Family of Fire said.

"Sorry for the delay your majesties! Your son had a slight problem with a passerby, but it is fixed!" A maid said, walking in with the Prince of Fire. "Sorry for the delay mother and father," The prince said. "No worries now. How about you get to know the two kids of these two lovely children whilst us adults talk in the throne room?" The Queen of Fire said. "Of course," The prince said, "Nice to meet you," Yamagata bowed. "Nice to meet you too," The two bowed.

As the parents headed towards a more private room covered by guards, Semi and Yamagata headed outside to practice archery while Kasumi went to go read a book with one of the maids near the staircase.

"You sure have great archery skills," Yamagata said. "Thanks.." Semi mumbled. He didn't take compliments well- he didn't really speak with new people really well in general. Semi pulled the string back and aimed it at the target, hitting the center in exactly the middle again, breaking the previously shot arrow on accident. "Oops.." Semi said, putting the bow down. "Wooden arrows sure do break easily," Yamagata said. "Yeah. But my parents won't let me train with any other arrows for a year due to.. An incident," Semi said. "Oh," Yamagata said. "Well, that's sad, but I think we can make this more fun by putting my fire and the arrow together and shooting it." "Sure," Semi said. 

Yamagata started a fire in his hands as Semi pulled the bow back. "Alright," Yamagata said, putting fire on the arrow. "3...2...1.." Semi mumbled, counting down before letting go off the arrow, hitting the yellow part of the board, but not directly in the center.

"Nice!" Yamagata said. "Thanks, you can try now," Semi said. "Sure, by the way," Yamagata said, taking the bow, "Do you have any powers? Or have you not learned them yet?" "I do, but it'd disintegrate the arrow in a second," Semi said. "Well, should have expected that, you are the Prince of Death after all," Yamagata chuckled awkwardly. "Yeah," Semi said.

Yamagata then took an arrow and aimed it towards another unused board, pulling the string back and letting go, hitting the red part. "So close," Yamagata said. "Practice makes perfect," Semi said. "Yeah, I know," Yamagata said. 

7 Months of Knowing Each Other...

Yamagata and Semi became really great friends in just a few months. One day, the two of them decided to go into the library in the Kingdom of Death, which had books mostly about ancient times and ancient royalty.
