"See? I told you that was her." someone argued.
"For a moment, I thought you were kidding. But the question is, why was she running in her pyjamas?" another person asked.
"Psssh! Kidding? Dude, our friend has been abducted to who knows where. She probably ran to save him." the person retorted.
Mari woke up to the sounds of two persons arguing. Upon opening her eyes, she found herself wrapped up within a sleeping bag. Her eyes scanned the place, only to see the inside of what seemed to be a van.
Looking out the window, she was surprised to see the van they were riding in was parked beside a bus. But she was overwhelmed when she saw what was beyond the bus. They were within a larger vehicle with enormous glass revealing the skies they were soaring in.
Clouds pouring snow was what she saw from her point of view. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"Joe? Who's driving the plane if you and George are here?" she asked.
"It's on autopilot. Anyway-" the person stopped as soon as he heard the girl ask.
When he turned around, a huge smile was plastered on his face upon seeing the girl.
"You're alive! I'm so sorry for my sudden outburst earlier." Joe exclaimed as he ran beside her, so Mari just nodded at his statement and forgave him.
"Quit assuming a person dead when they're clearly alive." Mari stated as she wiggled in her sleeping bag.
"Wow... where did the sass come from? Are you sure this is still Mari?" George asked.
"Bruh, you clearly see this is Mari. Do you want me to prove it by cursing and bring out Lily?" Joe dared, so Mari just shaked her head and giggled.
"Anyways, how do you get out of this thing? It's too tight. I can't move. Were you guys planning to cook me? I look like an embutido. Or is it a burrito?" she ignored him them and wondered on how to get herself out.
"I assume you're hungry." another person stated as he went inside the vehicle and sat beside Mari to help her out.
"Vlad!" Mari smiled.
"I'm glad to see you've finally recovered, sunshine." Vlad smiled back.
Joe heard that, so he glared daggers at Vlad as he helped Mari get out of the sleeping bag. Vlad also sent him a glare, but looked away and diverted his attention to Mari.
Upon getting out of the cocoon she was in, her stomach made a grumbling sound. It was as if it was screaming, "I will devour everything I see, if you don't give me food." Mari looked at her tummy and placed her hand on top of it.
"Seems like I was right. The Asian Gang has just finished cooking at the cafeteria. Let's get out of here." Vlad suggested.
"Yeah! We've got saving to do! Just like in video games!" Joe cheered.
"Joe, how many times do I have to tell you that this is not a video game?" George sighed.
As she got out of the van, Mari marveled at the spacious parking lot of the vehicle. It just seemed like they were within a tall building, when in fact they were actually flying in the skies.
While walking, her eyes widened when she caught the smell of food. She quickened her pace upon sniffing the wonderful smell, which led to the three of them leading her to where the cafeteria is.
"Mari, you finally recovered." Grace and Amira sang in chorus as they greeted Mari from the entrance to the cafeteria.
"Yeah, I'm just glad that you guys are okay." Mari replied, to which both looked at each other then gave her a questioning look.
