Dear Mrs B,
I think to make your house energy efficient it would be ideal to add these following the following:
Solar panels, are a great to add to your home as they ca cut your energy bills. Sunlight is free, so once you've paid for the installation, your electricity costs will be reduced. Also it cuts your carbon footprint as it's energy efficient.
Green roof, there are many benefits of having a 'green roof' one being it's great insulation. Also with this, water can be stored by the soil and plants.
(Cavity)Wall/floor insulation, there are many advantages that come with having insulation installed in the home. Similar to solar panels it lowers your energy bills, insulating them can also really help to keep the heat inside the home, reducing the amount of heat needed to warm it up.
Rain water barrel, using the barrel to collect rain water can save you a significant amount of money as you can use it for simple things like houseplants, garden, or even your lawn.
Double glazing, has many benefits however saving money on your heating bill is one of the most well known advantages as it decreases the amount of heat you lose from your home.
Some of the smaller cheaper benefits are:
• Carpet (insulation)
• Bristles on door (insulation)
• Sky light (natural lighting)I hope this information is useful in creating your energy efficient home.
Yours sincerely, Jade Woodier.
