"No way!"

"Yes way!"

"The Supremacy Lego set!?"

"Yep!"

"The Mega-class Star Dreadnought, Supremacy!?"

"Yes, Peter."

At that, Peter let out a squeal only heard by dogs, and even then, only ones with great hearing.

Thinking about it, this was yet another reason to keep his identity a secret. Who knows what would happen if criminals  found out throwing a Lego set at him would cause him to freak out?

"My place, after school?"

"Definitely!"

Unfortunately for the pair, it was at that point that the bell rang for the start of the next class, causing them to leap to their feet, hurriedly complete their handshake and part ways.

After class, Peter set off in search of his best friend. They always met next to his locker, but after a few minutes of waiting he became nervous.

Barely a minute after heading in the general direction of Ned's last class, Peter was met by a group of teens crowded around a bin, in his way.  Slightly apprehensive, he crept up behind the ring-leader, who stood, leaning over a figure crouched on the floor.

"Come on, Fatso! Eat it! Eat it!" The crowd around them jeered.

Peter felt his blood turn to ice as he took in the scene.

"Flash." The teenagers fell silent as the seemingly weak, nerdy boy shoved the kid against a wall, gripping his shirt so tight his hands became pale and bloodshot.

Somehow managing to hide his shock, Flash glared at Peter in disgust. "Look who it is, Penis Parker. Come to save your boyfriend, huh?" This made a couple of the onlookers pause and back away.

"Dude, bit homophobic." Flash looked up, confused. "You said you were cool with me and Benji. Y'know what? Forget it." He turned and strode off down the hallway, followed by a group of 6 others eager to leave.

"W-whatever." Flash spat out, slightly startled at the lack of backing he was receiving from his followers.

"We made a deal, Flash." Peter ignored the whispers surrounding him, focusing only on his target. "You could beat me up all you liked, and you'd leave my friends alone."

Ned, from where he was hunched over by the bin, looked up in horror. "Peter, no."

This was ignored by the teen as well. The bully felt himself pale as he finally realised the situation he had landed himself in. The loser he'd been beating up since middle school had him completely at his mercy, and from the looks on his so-called 'friends'' faces, they wouldn't be stepping in to help any time soon.

Peter kept his face emotionless as he took in the changing expression on Flash's face. All of a sudden he took a step back, letting him drop to the floor, before reaching down and helping Ned up. Together they turned and started to walk away in silence.

The vigilante felt terrible. Sure, Flash had been the bane of his existence for many years but the fear on the teenager's face would haunt him.

However, when he heard a fist being pulled back behind him, he didn't hesitate to duck below it and deck Flash right on the nose, breaking it.

He didn't like hurting people, but no one hurt his friends.
