the ballet love story

the duo

Eventually Erika and Brandon get called onto the floor. They are both feeling nervous but yet excited to dance with the person that they were in love with. Even though they didn't know the other dancer felt the same way. The duo gets ready for the music to start and get in the starting pose. The startine pose is where Erika stands in front of Brandon and he holds her in his arms. 'Her hair smells good.' Brandon thought. 'He's so muscular.' Erika thought. The music starts and the duo begins dancing. They get to the point where Erika has to do 10 pirouettes while Brandon spins her. They get through that part and move onto where they leap across the floor together. Once they've done that Brandon has to lift Erika up. He does so and Erika is so light and graceful in his arms. Before the dance comes to a complete end they have to do an ending pose. The assigned ending pose is where they have to stand facing each other hand in hand and looking into each other's eyes. They could both admit that this was the part that they were the most excited for. Erika does her shaunes on pointe to the center and Brandon does his leaps and eventually they meet up hitting that ending pose perfectly. Brandon looking down at Erika's chocolate brown eyes and Erika looking up at Brandon's ocean blue eyes. If they weren't trying so hard they probably would've melted into each other's arms. They actually end up getting a standing ovation from the audition directors, the other dancers auditioning, and Helgi himself. They break out of the pose but still look at each other. "You're pretty good." Erika says. "Oh, thanks! You are too. Those turns are spectacular!" Brandon replies. Erika lets out a small chuckle, "Thanks. Your saute de basques are incredible! Why haven't you tried out before?" "Thank you. Oh, I don't know. I guess I've always been the quiet type you know?" "Yeah, me too. I always feel like I won't get picked." "Me too. But, hey! Look at us! We both got in as Principal Dancers!" "Oh yea! I'm excited to get to work with you, Brandon right?" "Yea, Erika?" Erika nods her head and they shake hands. 'Her smile is so perfect.' Brandon thought to himself. 'His hands are so soft.' Erika thought. "Wanna keep talking over there?" Brandon says gesturing over to a corner inside the audition studio. "Sure." The two end up talking and getting to know each other for the rest of the auditions. They actually have a lot in common and seem to get along great! Maybe this could work. The partner segment of the audition comes to an end and Helgi grabs everyone's attention. "Hello dancers! You have all done amazing. Each and every one of you has skills that I have never seen before. It is now time for me to announce the roles that you will be given for the nutcracker. Starting off with the role of the Spanish Dancers..." Without even realizing it Erika and Brandon had started holding hands. Not in the lovey-dovey type of way. Just out of anxiety of what role they got. "For the role of the Snow Queen and Snow King we have Erika Lynne and Brandon Skyler." The two of them jump up and engulf each other in a loving hug. After about 5 seconds of the hug Brandon picks Erika up and twirls her around. After realizing what his action was he quickly sets her down. "Sorry, I- I didn't mean to do that. Just got excited, you know?" He lets out a nervous chuckle. "It's fine! I didn't mind at all! I'm so excited we get to be partners!"

           And so the ballet love story begins...
