Both y/n and Ayato approached Uyuu Restaurant, Ayato leading the way. Within the Kamisato estate, Ayato had expressed his excitement a lot more than he did in public scenarios. Perhaps it was to hold up a reputation, but y/n could only guess. "They sell boba at Uyuu restaurant?" Y/n asked, not realizing that they sold such drinks. Ayato opened the door to the restaurant, signaling for y/n to enter first, "They do, in fact." Ayato responded, a controlled grin on his face. Once y/n entered, Ayato followed close behind, letting the door shut once they were both within the restaurant. The two were greeted with new aromas of fresh foods and drinks.

The sound of busy chatter was all around, at least until people begun to realize that Ayato was there. Soon, the loud, happy chatter became low, conspicuous whispers. Y/n could barely catch the topic of conversation but, it wasn't hard to guess. Y/n turned to look at Ayato, noticing his posture had changed, now appearing a bit tense. Y/n put a hand on Ayato's shoulder, signaling for him to relax. Y/n could feel Ayato's shoulder lower as he let himself find comfort in the touch. Y/n moved their hand down from Ayato's shoulder to his hand, holding it gently. Ayato looked down at y/n, then at their hands. It took a moment before Ayato returned the hand hold, but it didn't fail to fluster y/n one bit.

Y/n got up on their toes to reach Ayato's ear, although he still had to lean down a bit. "Let's order your boba, then get outta here." Y/n suggested and Ayato nodded in response. Ayato walked over to a waiter behind a counter and ordered his classic, milk tea boba. Within five minutes, the boba was finished, and the duo left the restaurant, Ayato sipping on his drink. Both Ayato and y/n began heading back to the estate, a decent walk distance, no matter who you were. "You know, I've never actually had boba." Y/n said, holding Ayato's hand again. Ayato stopped suddenly, surprising y/n a bit. "Never?" He asked, his eyes wide.

Y/n shook their head, somewhat in embarrassment, "Not even once." Ayato stood in front of y/n and tilted his head to the side, "Well, that's just a crime, isn't it?" Ayato then let go of y/n's hand, not waiting for a response. He held onto y/n's jaw softly with his, now free, hand. "Try some." He offered, raising the boba to be in front of y/n. Y/n instinctively began sipping on the straw as Ayato let go of y/n's jaw. After a few sips, y/n pulled away, pondering upon the taste and finishing the last tapioca pearl. "Honestly," y/n began, "better than what i was expecting." Ayato smiled in response, "I figured you'd say something like that." Y/n shrugged and began to walk again. It would be a while before they made it to the estate, and y/n wasn't a fan getting to the estate at midnight. They still had to eat lunch after all.

.-~*♡*~-.

Once the two got to the estate, they let themselves relax as they had that morning. The two ended up in the kitchen again as Ayato finished his boba, letting y/n have a few sips now and then. Once the boba was finished, Ayato got up to throw it away and signaled for y/n to follow him. So they did. The duo ended up in Ayato's room again, just as they were this morning, except this time, they both sat on the bed. "Honestly, I'm too tired to make lunch right now." Y/n admitted. They knew they were supposed to take over Thoma's job of doing everything for Ayato, but they just weren't up to the task. Ayato laughed. Not a controlled laugh like the one he would do outside of the estate. No. Nothing like that. This was true. This was a real laugh. A contagious one at that. And y/n had the honor of hearing it.

"I'll be honest, Ayato." Y/n spoke, their voice light-hearted. "I never knew you were so informal outside of public view." Y/n gave a playful nudge with their shoulder to Ayato. He smiled and looked away, his cheeks becoming a light shade of pink. "Reputation is reputation. Not much I can do about it." Ayato said simply. "For the record," y/n added, "I like the real Ayato way more than the public one." Ayato then looked back at y/n and was met with a smile. He took that moment to admire y/n for everything they were. Their hair, eyes, skin... everything just looked perfect together. Ayato remembered the first time he ever saw y/n. It felt like just yesterday, but it was, in truth, months ago.

"Mr. Ayato, Ms. Ayaka. Please meet y/n." Thoma had announced. The first thing Ayato saw was their eyes. They were nervous, it seemed. "Welcome to the estate, y/n."  Ayato said, trying to sound as welcoming as possible. Perhaps Ayaka had noticed the change in his voice, considering she looked at him with a smirk. Y/n smiled, "Thank you, Mr. Kamisato!" Their voice was just as angelic as their appearance, Ayato had thought. "No need. I'm sure your help will be quite valuable to us all." Ayato had assured the nervous y/n as Ayaka had nodded in agreement. "Ayato is right." Ayaka had added, "Plus, if Thoma trusts you, I see no reason for us to deny you." The blue-haired girl smiled sweetly. Y/n began to cry, their happiness overflowing. The siblings, along with Thoma, had come to y/n's side.

Ayato still remembered how happy y/n had been that day. Something about their personality drew him to them. Something in the back of Ayato's mind told him that today had been planned by Thoma and Ayaka, but he wasn't complaining at all. "Hey, Ayato! Ayato~!" The male quickly snapped back into reality upon hearing his name. "Oh, I'm sorry!" Ayato exclaimed. Y/n had a pout on their face, "Are you alright? You just kind of... zoned out..." Ayato smiled.

"I'm definitely alright." He said.
    "You sure?"
"Of course. Remembering your first day here is always a joyous memory."
    "Oh, please don't."
"Too late."
    "Dang."

Ayato gave a chuckle as he looked down at his hands. "Can I say something?" He asked, his voice longing in a way y/n couldn't really say they've heard before. "Go for it. This is a safe space after all." Ayato had enough of just friends. Perhaps he had always wanted this from the beginning. Perhaps not. But it didn't hurt to try going for your dream.

"I love... I love you, y/n"
