Andy was about 5 months pregnant with their baby boy. She, Robert and Carina decided it may be best to go on maternity leave early because her sickness still hadn't slowed. Between Andy being pregnant and sick, Robert still working, moving into their new home and making sure their daughter was at school and dance classes and was picked up on time, Andy and Robert barely had enough time for themselves. Robert hadn't gone on paternity leave yet so Andy was left taking care of most things on her own and she was EXHAUSTED. Robert decided to plan a surprise for Andy. He talked to the cheif and his sub and was able to go on paternity leave a week early.

Andy had just gotten home with their daughter and she was greatful that she and Robert had taught her to do things on her own because she didn't think she had the energy to help her at the moment.

"Mija, give me your jacket and go change out of your dance clothes", Andy said as she took off her shoes and jacket at the door.

"Mommy, can I have a smoothie?"
"Mommy is really exhausted baby but how about you go change. I'll make us a sandwich. We can split it, have some juice and watch a movie until daddy gets home. How does that sound? I'll even let you pick the movie this time" Andy knew that would satisfy her daughter. She also wanted a smoothie but she wanted one of Robert's smoothies.
"Yay! Can we watch Pocahontas?!"
"Sure can and I'll tell daddy to make us both a smoothie when he gets home! Go on and change and I'll get everything ready. "

Andy made their sandwich and cup of juice, remembering to text Robert to let him know that his girls would like one of his smoothies, while Lukah (her almost 5 year old daughter) changed. As she was bringing everything to the living room, she heard Lukah's little foot steps coming down the stairs

"Perfect timing! Everything is ready. Get us a blanket. Something big for us to share which means no princess blanket." Andy was sure to mention that since all of the princess blankets were child size.

"But mommy!"
"But mommy" Andy said mocking Lukah. "You know the princess blankets are too little. Go" Andy said playfully while nudging her towards the chest with all of their blankets.
"Okay" Lukah responded pretending to be sad
"I'm going to the bathroom, then we can start"
"Mommy, you have to potty a lot."
"I know, it's because of your baby brother"
"Well, he should stop making you potty a lot"
"Well, you used to make me potty on myself. So this is much better." Lukah giggled at the fact that her mom peed on herself as a "big girl" as she looked through the chest to find the perfect blanket for them. Andy went to use the bathroom and when she came back, she sat on the couch while lukah sat in the floor to eat her half of the sandwich and started the movie. Once they were finished with their sandwich and juice, Lukah moved from the floor to the couch with Andy. They laughed, sang and danced along to the songs. They eventually ended up tiring themselves out and halfway through the movie, Andy ended up laid on her back holding Lukah, Lukah's head tucked in the crook of her mom's neck and her hand on Andy's small bump; both of them fast asleep.

Meanwhile at work, after Robert confirmed and finalized everything so he could go on paternity leave early, he convinced Vic and Luke to take Lukah for the weekend. He planned to get home and spend some time with his girls then spend the weekend alone with his wife. After seeing Andy's text, he left the station and stopped by the store to get the ingredients for smoothies, then made his way home. As he walked through the door, he smiled to himself seeing them asleep. He kicked off his shoes and hung his coat. He sat the groceries down in the kitchen, then picked Lukah up and took her to his and Andy's room then scooped up Andy, taking her there as well. Once he laid Andy down, he gave them both kisses on their foreheads, watched as Lukah curled up to Andy, then went downstairs to make their smoothies.

30 minutes later, he made his way upstairs with their smoothies and woke them, starting with Andy.

"Hey babe, wake up" He brushed a light kiss on her forehead as he ran his fingers through her hair.
"Robert, what are you doing here so early and..." She looked around wondering when they came up stairs. Robert interrupted her thoughts by giving her a soft but quick kiss before answering both of her questions.
"Well I planned a surprise for you which required me to leave work early and when I got home the two of you were asleep on the couch with Pocahontas singing 'Colors of the Wind' I didn't want to wake you so I brought you two upstairs" Robert said turning his attention towards their smoothies. "Oh and Luke and Vic will be here in a few hours to get Lukah for the weekend." Andy furrowed her eyebrows, trying to think of what the surprise could be and wondering when they planned for Lukah to stay the night with her God parents. Before she could get too lost in her thoughts again, Robert interrupted her.
"No you didn't forget anything. In order for this weekend to go as planned, I arrangedfor them to take her." Before he could continue, Andy opened her mouth to say something but he stopped her with another soft kiss, already knowing what she was going to ask. "And no, I'm not giving you any hints. I've been working on this for 3 weeks and there's no way I'll let you ruin my surprise!" Andy scrunched her face in response "I wasn't even going to ask for hints" forgetting how well her husband knows her "Oh you weren't? Well, what were you going to ask? Huh?" Robert teased knowing he was right. "I was going to ask you..." She had to take a moment to come up with something to say. "... what's the surprise?" She said laughing "you do know that's basically the same thing" he leaned in for another quick kiss and they both began to laugh which caused Lukah to stir and snuggle closer to Andy. "Mommy, when will daddy be home for our smoothies?" Robert kneeled down next to the bed, rubbed her back and kissed her head. "Hey princess. If you open your eyes, you'll see that I am back and your smoothie is already made." Lukah's eyes shot open as she jumped up with excitement and leaped into Robert's arms. "Daddy!" She wrapped her small arms around Robert's neck. You could still hear the sleep in her voice. "I missed you today!" Robert returned her hug, placing a few kisses on her head. "I missed you too! Here sit back and I'll give you your smoothie" Lukah pulled back from his embrace and sat against the headboard. "We have it in here today?!" Lukah asked with excitement knowing Robert never allows her to eat or drink anything upstairs. Only on rare occasions.
"We eat in here today" Robert said back answering her question. "Now be careful" she took the cup that he handed her. "I will daddy. Thank you!" "You're welcome"
