What Is the Omegaverse?

So exactly what is this Omegaverse thing? Well, sit down and let me tell you a short story...

PEOPLE~

Omegaverse (sometimes called A/B/O or A/O) is a special type of literary trope that is considered a kink and erotica material. It originated in the fanfiction world, specifically the Supernatural fandom and has spread far & wide (pun intended) since then.

Now the trope itself can have slight variations according to the writer's preference, but there are still general characteristics that make up the Omegaverse trope. From canine influences, the trope consists of a hierarchical society broken in two or three stations known as Alphas, Betas, and Omegas. All individuals are governed by their natural need to reproduce through things like scenting, biting, knotting, and mating.

For the Alphas, they are typically large in size with dominant, aggressive personalities and usually knot into their mate to impregnate them. Sometimes they can only knot when they are in a rut (heat).

For the Beta, they are one step below an Alpha in the hierarchical system. Usually they closely resemble a human and can often impregnate and mate Omegas or another Beta.

Finally is the Omega, who tends to be at the bottom of the pecking order. They are usually smaller in size and gentler but still fierce when it comes to their mate and children. Typically an Omega goes into heat, which can be at random, spurred by an Alpha, or at regular intervals but when in heat, their need for sex controls them. Once they are mated to one person then it is for life. Bonds between an Omega and Alpha are considered special and unbreakable. If a male is an omega they can still get pregnant.

HEATS AND RUTS~

Heats are an omega thing. It's basically like a period cycle, but can sometimes last longer. When an Omega goes into heat they can either take some suppressants or get their Alpha to help them with it. Omega's scents also get more sweeter when they are in heat and it can make an Alpha lose control sometimes.

Ruts are an Alpha thing. An Alpha can only go into rut when he fades into the Omega's scent. If he smells another Omega's scent he could possibly go into rut right there. Rutting can be dangerous for an Omega sometimes. Sometimes Alphas can knot inside an Omega or they could end up getting hurt.

MARKS AND SCENTS~ (I'm bad at explaining these)

Permanent Marks are when a Alpha marks a Omega permanently. They have to bite deep down into their scent gland which is located on the Omega's neck. Meaning that all of those Omega's emotions will be mixed with the Alpha's emotions. Their scents will mix with each other. For a couple of weeks both the Alpha and Omega will feel very clingy to each other and not want to be away from each other for at least five minutes. You can only permanently mark an Omega if they are in heat and an Alpha is in rut.

Temporary Marks are much different from permanent marks. When a Alpha temporarily marks someone that mark only last for 30 days then it fades away. They have to bite down on their scent gland like a permanent mark, but not to deep. Omega and Alpha's emotions will be mixed together, but not as long as a permanent mark. Their scent will not mix together either. Omega will mostly be clingy when they have a permanent mark. An Alpha will not be as much clingy, but still will want to be near their Omega sometime.

Omega's Marks can only happen when an Omega is permanently marked. Omegas can mark an Alpha only if the Alpha gives permission. This will make the Omega and Alpha's bond more stronger than a permanent mark.

OMEGAVERSE RULES

1. When and Omega is paired together with and Alpha, it is the Alpha's job to temporarily mark the Omega. Once the Alpha has marked its Omega you must continue with the program. When the mark fades away in 30 days the Alpha must remark the Omega. If an Alpha permanently marks the Omega then we can not separate them and they must move on with the program.

2. If an Alpha hurts an Omega or Beta then they will be removed from the program immediately. This result may also get you expelled. If an Omega hurts a Alpha or Beta they will be punished the same like the Alpha. If a Beta hurts a Omega or an Alpha they will be punished the same like the Alpha and the Omega.

3. If the Alpha or Omega does not have a partner or does not wish to be partners with their Omega or Alpha they will be paired with a beta.
