It is a dreary Tuesday and you get back to the apartment around 11- late for a work night. You'd spent the last couple hours catching up with your good friend Justin over sushi and coffee. You know Reid was working late at the office on a case so despite your over-excitement to hang out with him in your infatuated state, you were able to be a normal, good friend and very much enjoyed your social evening. However, it is late and you too need to work tomorrow- though your job is not as strenuous as that of Spencer Reid, who you are lucky enough to have been dating now for 3 weeks. You couldn't call him your boyfriend- but at the same time, there is something very special between you and you want to do everything you can to keep it going - after nothing but failed relationships and meaningless hookups, you are needles to say overjoyed to meet someone as wonderful as Spencer. And to think that he likes you back is almost too much for your mind to handle! You just try not to think about this terrifying fact. And it definitely helps!

You have lent Spencer your key because he had wanted to sleep at your place tonight, even though there wouldn't be time to hang out. You assumed, pretty much, that he'd already be asleep when you returned. He was just stressed out from working on a really brutal case the prior week and didn't want to be alone. Not that he said this, but you could tell, so you casually said that he could feel free to drop by if he wanted. You could tell this sounded appealing from the tiniest flicker of interest in his eyes so you said, "Just leave the key hidden under the stair when you lock the door and I'll see you later tonight!" This was over the phone around 7 when you were headed out to happy hour and dinner, and you didn't see him in person.
