Bakugou Katsuki had never had the best..erm..luck..when it came to relationships. When he was in 6th grade, he got a crush on his least favorite narcissistic little prick, Izuku Midoriya. They dated for a few months, then he came as trans. Deku was having none of it, very much wanted to have a "girlfriend." He treated him like shit after that, by the end of middle school Deku had convinced everyone he was some sort of monster..and he only had two friends. Great first dating experience, right? Nope. But then..it got worse. Next he sorta caught feeling for his friend and classmate Jirou...she left him for Momo. Hooked up with Todoroki, turned out to be a creep and stalked him for months, made out with Shouji and he didn't remember the next day, forgot to tell Sero he was trans(turns out that's not a fun surprise), Uraraka didn't want anything serious three days after saying she loved him, Tokoyami wanted someone a bit edgier, and that's just 1A. Then he fell in love with his best friend Kirishima, youre thinking this is where it all finally works out right? WRONG. He was very very very verryyy STRAIGHT. Which is okay I mean he can't help..the issue is how it all went down. You see, they enjoyed going on hikes together. About a month before everything that happened, they found a beautiful spot off the path, beautiful rainbows of pink and golden flowers lined a field that led up to a stream, with a crytsal blue waterfall cascading just within eyesight. Surrounding all of this? Bakugou's favorite trees, weeping willows. It was the most amazing thing either of them had ever scene so they planned have a picnic there and maybe hang a take some pictures next weekend. And so they did, they returned seven more times that month. Then, when day at sunset just as the light glistening against the waterfalls turned the flowers glowing, Bakugou kissed the best friend he had fallen so deeply in love with. He was aware kissing someone without their consent was probably a bad idea, but he really thought Kirishima was like into him. Apparently he's just very friendly. Well his response was to pull away and very loudly shout "WHAT THE FUCK DUDE SICK" and then proceeded to spit and try to clean his mouth...a lot. Lesson learned, that strong of a first move should not happen if you haven't confirmed to sexuality of your potential partner. Kirishima did apologize later for over reacting and that "there's nothing wrong with uh..people like that..Im just not, sorry if I gave you the wrong idea bro...". Which in no way made the initial reaction of disgust hurt any less. They both tried a couple attempts at staying close after that, but at that point it was no use. Kirishima was uncomfortable and Bakugou was heart broken, he'd really though Kirishima was the one, but he wasn't, and it was going to be okay. Somebody he'd find someone that wanted him just as much and he wanted them, that loved him for who he was. The fact that he was about to meet that person, and who it would be however, would certainly surprise him.
