<NORA AKINTOYE>Exam, 200 level first semester exams were finally here, and for the life of me, I couldn't be bothered. All I could do as I walked out of the exam hall for the second time that day was mumble Ariana's latest song, "We Can't Be Friends."
I listened to it all night as I was studying for my criminal law exam last night, and right now, walking towards my hostel, I was listening to the song on repeat. As I reminisced about the conversation I had with Tyler, I wondered, should I really confess my feelings to Clement or just wait for his love?
I was on my way to my hostel, singing the song while thinking about him - his voice, his looks, his carriage - so much so that I began seeing his face in every male I passed by. That was until a guy who looked so much like Clement himself stopped me. I was grinning from ear to ear, my earphones still plugged in, when I said, "Hi, Clement—"
"Hi, Korra. It's rather strange you're happy to see me." My smile immediately disappeared; I unplugged my earpiece as I stared at the real Clement. I stepped back, discreetly pinching myself out of my daydream. "It's Nora, actually. What are you doing here?"
"Oh, my apologies. I don't know why I cant seem to tell you and your sister apart," I rolled my eyes and folded my arms, already getting irritated. "Actually, I came for my post-UTME exam, and I thought I'd come see Korra. Is she around?" he said, looking over my shoulder and head, hoping Korra was right behind me. "Tsk, no, she's not. You'd better head back home before you get lost," I said, letting my annoyance show. Does he think my twin and I were joined at the hip or something? I mean, we're doing two different courses, for Pete's sake.
"Oh, someone's cranky. What happened? Do you want to talk about it?" I kissed my teeth and said, "I don't have time for this, okay. I have an exam tomorrow, so good luck getting lost." I said, and with that, I walked off, ignoring all his desperate calls to get my attention.
"We truly can't be friends, not when I have a huge crush on him and he's after my twin... maybe in another life... I'll wait for your love," I said to myself out loud, with my AirPods plugged back in..
