"Have you ever felt the pain of losing someone dear to you? I believe most of us did, but have you ever felt the agony of losing someone before you could tell them how much they meant to you?"
. . .
Everyone wishes to have a safe, beautiful, and an unforgettable childhood, in a good way of course. No one will say no to the happy running through the flower fields, or to the ecstatic high laughs from dawn to curfew. You can simply say, no one will say no to a happy childhood.
Because when you will grow up, you will need those old memories to lighten up your day, or at least to take you out of a gloomy circle. It is a beautiful thing, to have a treasure in your mind, which you can open whenever you need to relax or forget.
However, it is called a treasure for a reason. Not everyone wants to open up to their childhood memories, there might be darkness and hollowness there, or maybe some ghosts who will haunt you whenever you open that memory box in your head. It might be a terrifying thing to some people.
And that was the case of Irene. Not exactly though. She practically had a mix of both happiness and grief, and relief and terror. She used to have an unused dose of happiness, not until they came, and made her look for that unfound feeling she used to neglect...She wasn't the only one suffering from that, the people in her town had their smiles stolen as well. And they've all wished to have it back, even for a little while, to refresh their souls after it became stale...
They were forced to work for the enemy, they were forced to bow to them. Their rights got stolen along with their identities, their dreams, their potentials, and everything they used to enjoy. Many of them died to the miss of care and freedom, which made their number minimize little by little.
The enemy noticed the lack of workers after the death of many of them. And that's why, they've decided to make their lives experience hell even further. Every female from the "peasants" has to get forcibly married to one of the people of the enemy who had took all control of the place. They stated that, if the peasants agree to that, they will take off some of the chains, and give them some rights.
So, without spending much time thinking about it. The people of Arkala (the peasants), agreed to sacrifice their daughters, mothers and sisters to regain some freedom...And exactly every night the full moon appears, a wedding held by the enemy starts, and the victim is forced to not speak for the whole night, along with their family.
That night, when the sky glittered with its beautiful jewels and its shining moon at the center. Another poor girl was about to get chained down for the rest of her life...
