Chapter 4: Niall discovered
ARIA’S POV
I was stalking a shiny beetle in my room when I saw it. Light was shining through a crack in my closet’s door, even though I’d hidden there many times before and never noticed a light.
Abandoning the beetle, I approached the mysterious light cautiously, suspecting some prank from Lyra or Lia.
Quiet as a mouse, I crept to the closet and held the handle, counting down from four. On ‘zero’ I jumped backwards, yanking the door open and falling flat to the floor to avoid any incoming missiles (like that one time when I went into the kitchen and Lyra smashed a cake into my face).
Staring out at me from the closet was a cute blond guy holding a phone that he’d obviously been texting on. Of course, right now he was looking at me lying on the floor like I was some kind of crazy person.
“Well excuse me! But I’m not the one sitting in a closet!” I huffed defensively. Wait… did I say that out loud? Great, now he’s looking at his phone like he wants to call the police… or the nearest loony bin.
This was just plain unfair: I find a cute guy in a closet and he thinks I’m insane!
The guy was still staring at me, in fact he looked kind of familiar… OH. MY. GOD. Niall Horan is in my closet, and he thinks I'm insane. Well this day just keeps getting better and better.
