It's been a couple weeks since school started. To nobodies surprise, there was in fact distractions. A lot of them. But most of them were from him. I'd found out his name was Jimmy after my first conversation with him. I was watching over the kids at B Lunch- eating my lunch with a few other staff members. Suddenly, I heard him. "Hey, you're the assistant principal for 7th grade, right?"
I couldn't help but get goosebumps from his somewhat commanding voice. I looked at him, my face feeling incredibly hot. "Uhm- yeah, that's me! you're the 6th grade assistant principal, right?" I responded.
He smiled. "yup. Hard work, am I right?" he said, chuckling.
I gulped. "Yep, sure is.."
"So, since we're colleagues and all, wanna go out with me and a few other coworkers for some drinks after school?" he asked me.
and of course, i said yes.
and that was another distraction.

As the day went on, I couldn't stop thinking. I was a bit upset that there would be a few other colleagues of ours there, but it was okay. maybe he'd make a move on me? no, no, no- I didn't even know if he was gay or not yet. but there was just something about him telling me that maybe, just maybe... "Dr. Schoener to the cafeteria please." a voice called from my walkie-talkie. I sighed, snapping out of my trance. It brought me back into the real world. I have a husband, what the hell was i thinking?! I was not gonna cheat on him. Absolutely not. I went on my way to the cafeteria, I had to call out bus numbers for dismissal. And just like that, my Friday was over. It was almost time to see him again.
