Legends of Evermore { PILOT }

Chapter 1: Stories beginning

"NIKOOOOO GET OVER HERE!" A woman's voice yelled "hang on! Hang on!" A girl spoke, she ran inside the house sitting at the table "Geeze, as a cat you are pretty slow." The woman teased her. "..Slow my ass, at least I'm not the type of Etherian to almost be completely animal that can stand on two legs, no offense to them though. Besides I only have a tail, ears, and the feet of a cat. Plus claws that can slice your face off!" Niko bragged at the final words she had said.  

Catherine rolled her eyes and laughed a bit, she then turned to the woman with blonde hair, wearing a beautiful white morning dress, who was a harpy yet an elf with a blindfold covering her eyes. "Eleanor." Catherine spoke "Where's Ray?" She asked, Eleanor said nothing but shrugged and sighed "RAY! BREAKFAST IS READY!" Eleanor shouted. There were no responses.

Ray was the type to always be working on something although no one really knew what she was doing, however she does play with potions non stop. Niko got up from her seat and walked towards ray's room and knocked "Ray?.."

After saying that an explosion was heard, The door opened as a girl with a blue long sleeve and black pants, with knee high boots and a brunette hair long and wavy, with amber eyes came out, she was a bit covered in remains of ashes from the potions that had caused a ruckus. "AH- oh- for a second i thought you were dead." Niko said with a bit of shock in her voice, yet she was unamused due to the fact that it was normal. "Oh yeah? Well maybe you should've expected something...I don't know...shocking? Unless you have a knuckle brained head who always think someone is dead when something small happens." Ray suggested with a bit of sass, Niko rolled her eyes and asked Ray to follow her downstairs as they both sat down in their seat.

Few minutes had passed as Ray had already gotten up finishing her meal, as she walked to her room. Niko's ear twitched as she had suspicion of Ray and to why she was acting like this, to be honest this has been going on ever since she came back from her trip with her friend. Niko quickly ate the rest of her food getting up without a word and running towards Ray's room in a split second. Niko Slightly opened the door and peeked through the door and saw no one there, she questioned on where Ray had gone. Niko opened the door and examined the room a bit more, again, she didn't see anything neither did she see the potions that would usually be on Ray's desk.
"Ray?" She whispered, she took a step in and stepped on a newspaper, she bent down and picked it up, it was an old newspaper Catherine had explained about when they were younger. 'What in the...why does she still have this? I thought she said that she had thrown it away.' She thought. She looked closer and read 'Main village for trading, food, shops and events burnt down with unexpected reasons, no survivors were found as in total 20 corpses were found and others remained as missing. Suspects that had lived in the forest had said that they may suspect that someone may have done it purposely.' Niko looked at the image, there was blood and guards dragging dead bodies, it seemed like a blood massacre she wondered on how it was possible for someone to kill a whole village even with fire going on.
If was hurtful for her to look but even so it was a long time ago, it doesn't need solving. Niko placed down the newspaper and walked around the room, she checked closets, bathrooms,  and other places. Niko opened a drawer hidden underneath the bed and found a box hidden inside. She opened the box and found a worn out  black-ish oil bottle, it was old, yet kinda dusty. Niko tilted her head. 'Ray's a witch isn't she? Can't she cast a fire magic or something...' her ears slowly flattened possibly realizing that it was Ray for the cause.

She got up and ran to the newspaper re-reading every single thing. "You found it?" A voice spoke, startled. Niko looked behind her and saw Ray resting on the wall, with confidence niko then tried to ask her "Ray did yo-" "I see you found my old oil for cooking!" Ray said cutting off niko before she could even question Ray about anything at all. Niko stayed quiet and looked at the old oil bottle. "You...cooked?" She asked, Ray nodded as she was walking over to the old oil bottle and putting it back inside the box. Niko stared at her with suspicion  and nodded slowly "right..." Niko said sitting there with visible confusion. "Does..aria know that you cook?" She asked, Ray turned around and sighed.

"No, it would be great to tell her though. After all she is my daughter."

Ray responded and walked out closing the door behind her. 'A daughter that's an Etherian whilst having a mother that's a human...well...witch, yeah right.' She thought. Niko got up and placed everything back where it was. Although keeping the newspaper, she opened the door walking out as she sighed heading to her bedroom. 'What now?' She thought.
