"Please don't," I begged pathetically.
"I would..." He trailed off. "But then I realize how disgusting you are and how you will never be wanted or loved by your mate." He smirked as the whip came down hard on my back.
I screamed.
"On your birthday, you have to be beaten. And on your birthday, you're supposed to find your mate," He mocked with fake sadness.
I looked out through the cracked window just as the sun rises on the horizon. Then a scent hit me like a ton of bricks.
In less than a second, the chains were taken away from my red wrists with care and I was pulled down on someone's lap so close that I couldn't move.
"Mine."
I look up, only to see the teary eyes of my abuser. The person who made my life a living hell, the person who almost killed me, was also the person I was destined for.
