Stabbing his lunch continuously with his fork, Seth was taken aback by his father's words, he didn't realize when Tyler sat next to him at their dining table.
Nudging Seth with his elbow, "dude?"
"Oh!" he exclaimed, "geez you scared me, when did you get here?"
"I've been sitting here for like an hour now." Tyler lied.
"Oh really?" Seth shot a confused look at him, "even I haven't?"
They laughed.
"Anyway, you seemed lost in thoughts..... Is everything okay?" Tyler asked, stabbing at the beef in his plate with his fork.
"I wasn't, I was just admiring this lifeless bird in my plate."
Staring for a moment before saying. "Yes you were, I mean you don't even realize that I kissed you."
"You what?!!" Seth screamed pulling at his best friend's collar creating a scene at the cafeteria.
"Woah relax I didn't!" Tyler replied holding Seth's arms trying to free himself, "but the thing is you actually believed I did which means you were lost somewhere inside your mind."
Seth finally released him then scooched over creating a gap between them. "Well I'm not going to kiss you now!" Tyler scoffed. He put his collar back in place and adjusted his neck tie. "We're just messing around!" Hr yelled out as everyone stared at them.
Seth explained to his friend what his father had said earlier, "woah_" Tyler exclaimed placing a hand on Seth's shoulder, taking a deep breath and wiping off a tear that wasn't there. "I'm going to miss you buddy." He said tapping at his chest.
"I don't appreciate the sarcasm." Seth said, pushing Tyler's hand off him.
"I'm not being sarcastic, I really am going to miss you."
"Oh shut up, I'm not going anywhere." Seth replied with an upside down smile building up on his face.
"Don't worry too much, he's your dad, you could always talk to him. In the meantime we gotta go or we'll miss our flight." Tyler said, packing up his lunch he barely touched.
"We?... Where are we going?"
"What?" Tyler exclaimed with food almost spilling on him. They stared at each other in awkward silence, Seth arching a brow hoping for Tyler to continue. "Ehat the hell, you did forget!"
"Forget what bro? Come on tell me!" He yelled in inquisition.
"I'm so telling him, it's Johnny's birthday party tonight and we promised that we'd be there which is why we booked flights to Mexico and it leaves soon so we'd better get going." Pointing at both of them each time he said 'we' emphatically.
"Oh my bloody hell!" He exclaimed, raising his hands to his head.
Without hesitation, he stood up and rushed to his office, "wait for me!" Tyler said as he chased after his friend. Seth didn't pack because he had forgotten and if he decided to go back home, they'd miss their flight so he only took his bag he took to work and his phone.
Running down the quite slippery floor, almost bumping into his dad, he immediately put a halt to his speed. "And where do you think you're going?" Mr Davies questioned folding his hands behind his back.
"Uh, it's uh a uh place, yeah to uhm— sell those wears you know."
Standing up straight, Mr Davies shot a questioning look at both panting men, "well be back tomorrow dad, bye!" Seth explained gasping for his breath at the end of the sentence before picking up his pace once more running past his dad and Tyler followed.
