Waves collapsed against the rocks, small beads of water showering the shore. Vaporising in the soupy, thick air. The sound of the thunder ringing through the infinite pool of deep blue water, like a bomb detonating in the overcast sky. A raging storm overhead, like the hungry mouth of a river, waiting for a new target to devour. The once thriving ocean, was now being engulfed by the coarse wind: shrieking in the cold air. Fish vanishing beneath all kinds of corals, sand being mopped from the ocean floor- condensing the alkaline water, blocking my vision as I hastily struggled to search for another mermaid. The stale, sulphur scent of sea water condensing in my nostrils.
Luminous flecks of light, blinking in the sky, as the waves swallow me whole. The decayed lighthouse- that was perched on top of the rigid rocks- gleaming with moisture from the harsh waves. Parting the sea with an immense glare: the biggest and brightest light I had ever seen!
Stealing my attention from the lighthouse, I swiftly ducked my head under the water, sand from the ocean floor being swept in all directions, I was sightless in the waves. Acrid water clogging my throat, flooding my mouth, burning my tonsils as if a million needles had been plunged into it. The water surrounding me tugging me into a tight embrace- wrapping me helplessly in a cold, damp blanket, dulling my ability to move. My hands gripped onto the rocks, clawing them as I try and squirm free from the tight grip the water formed around my body. Struggling to regain control as the water threw me in all paths. Sweeping me forcefully, from the surface, my tail helplessly hitting the side of the rock, as my scales got caught on the rigid edges, slashing them free from my tail, as blood gently trailed from the gash. A velvet river pouring from its source, gliding effortlessly through the water; carrying my hope for survival with it.
As I tugged my tail free, the jagged rock, splitting my skin even more as I attempt to shake it free- the wound growing: the scales chipping away around the vicious wound. Crimson liquid oozing from my tail.
Ripping my tail, brutally, free from the rock. Gazing up at the sky, waves thundering at the sandy shore, ingesting the sand and the shells with it. Angry clouds brewing in the sky above me, like witchrs around a cauldron. The colour of the clouds has always been my favorite- I wanted to reach up and snatch a handful of the cosmic swirls- if I could I would spin it into silk and wear it forever! The thunder began solemnly: the drums of heaven, then the lightning: striking th earth in vigorous flashes of light. Rain pouring, hitting the ocean, which was laced with the strength of posiden in combination with zuess' strong, harsh winds.
As the sea starts to rough again, I can feel myself growing heavier and heavier in the water. My tail going limp- numbing itself agianst the raw coldness of the sea! My eyes shutting on me, flickering closed like the flame on a candle, the firey Amber of my eyes disappearing behind my eyelids; as I slowly glide towards the surface, becoming limp as I gently loose conciencness.
