My breath caught in my throat as I watched the gentle strokes of his brush push against the fragile human skin. The body was obviously dead, it's pale skin looked almost broken and cold. The man, with his strikingly beautiful green eyes was caught in concentration, swirling colors of brown and green on the human's flesh. His tongue peeked out of his mouth and his brows were furrowed, mixing a color that resembled dirt on its arm. I shouldn't be here. I was taking my daily run when I stumbled across this cabin, peeking through the window to diminish my curiosity when I saw this man, who looked like any normal young boy, painting colors on a corpse. I couldn't move, my feet were stuck in place and my eyes were glued to the strokes of his brush. He looked almost solemn. Happy, as if. His brush movements were long and delicate, taking precision and delicacy to a whole new level.
I needed to get out of here, no matter my fascination with this man and his beautiful, yet dark talent. I couldn't risk being seen. I backed up slowly, moving away from the cabin window when I heard a branch snap underneath my foot. I flinched and looked down to my feet, the windows were closed. He couldn't have heard. I slowly moved my head back up to look inside the window once more, before I broke into a run, when I saw the horrifyingly beautiful green eyes staring into my own. I let out a strangled sob as I turned on my heels and ran out into the woods. Branches and bushes brushed against my skin, leaving cuts and marks all over my arms and legs as I ran away from the cabin. I ran until I felt as if my lungs were burning and my legs would give out at any minute. Sweat was trickling down my forehead. My breaths were coming out in short burst as I fought to catch my breath. I whipped my head around. I'm lost. The tall, thick trees made me realize I ran deep into the forest as I turned my body around in a circle, surveying my surroundings. Not seeing anything but trees and bushes and branches that seemed to go on for miles.
"Shit," I breathed. I didn't have my phone on me, nor did I have any clue how to get out of here.
I started walking, figuring I could find my way out eventually, when I heard a twig snap to my left. I ducked down, my eyes going wide. Moving backward slowly, I tried to get behind a big shrub or a tree when I heard a twig snap once more, closer this time. I whimpered, scared for my life. My hands flew up to my mouth as I tried to keep my breathing quiet. My eyes screwed shut as I felt my back hit the stump of a tree, bushes covering my hiding spot. More twigs and branches snapped as I dared to open my eyes. A dark silhouette stood a yard in front of me, curly hair flying around its face. It was him, the painter. His figure was big, at least six feet tall and his build was muscular. I breathed a shaky breath. How was I going to escape this?
His head whipped in several directions before he stalked toward me, I let out a whimper as I screwed my eyes shut once more. I was behind a bush, he wasn't able to see me, I hoped. His big foot steps passed me and I left out a relieved sigh, I could hear his steps grow lighter as he moved away from me, I slowly got up, looking to where he walked and found no trace of him. I went to move backwards, slowly, wanting to figure out how to get out of here. Before I even turned my body, a cold hand slivered around my mouth and a big arm threw me over a shoulder. I wasn't going to escape this and I knew it.
