I wake up and look at my phone. No texts? That's unusual. I normally wake up with lots of texts from friends and family. Who cares? I think, and toss my phone back onto the nightstand. I flip my pillow to the cold side and lay my head back down. A few more minutes won't hurt. I close my eyes and drift back to sleep.
I hear my alarm go off and decide it's been long enough. I turn it off and check my notifications again. Mom, TIff, Theo. None from George. I lay my phone back down and flop down on my bed and look up at the ceiling. "Ugh, I can't believe he won't even text me in the morning," I sigh.
I get up and look into the mirror. "Nothing like a little dress up to make me feel better," I say through a yawn. I pick out a few clothes I think would look good on me.
The first outfit is more of a dress but the bottom is shorts instead of a skirt. It's blue and has roses on it. A combo that you think wouldn't look good but turns out looking pretty cute.
The second outfit is a dark green sweater with baggy jeans. A black belt holds the pants on and a little heart necklace brings it all together. "This one's cute," I say, giving myself a quick spin while eyeing myself in the mirror. I slip it off and try one last outfit.
A graphic tee with the same baggy jeans. "Eh, there's not much to this outfit," I say, eyeing myself. I slip it off and decide to go with the second option.
"Green is more my color anyway," I say, picking up my phone and choosing some cute shoes to go with it. I decided to wear some brown converse that go up to my ankle. I walk out the door and down the hall into the kitchen. "What am I cooking today?" I ask myself with a frown.
As i'm getting the eggs out of the fridge I hear my phone ping. "Alexa, read my text," I yell as I crack an egg into a bowl. "-Hey Y/N, I was wondering if I could come over tonight-" Alexa read. Then Alexa finished with, "Text from George with a heart." "NO ALEXA DON'T READ THE NAME!" I yell and then sigh. "God, I need to change his name before someone sees it," I say washing my hands off and walking over to my phone.
I pick it up and reply, "Of course you can. I'm always open if it's something you want to talk about, you know?" I sigh and lay the phone down. "He probably just wants to come over so he can trauma dump on me again," I roll my eyes and walk back over to my eggs. I don't know how I put up with him. I'm almost like his therapist. I think as I put the eggs on the pan and start the fire.
I hear my phone ping again. "Alexa, read it aloud again," I yell. "-Great and no i'm not trauma dumping again if you think that's what I'm doing-" Alexa says. "-Text from George with a heart," She finishes. I shake my head and turn the fire off.
I slip my eggs onto a plate and sprinkle a little bit of pepper on them. "Hey Alexa, text him back and say you can come over now if you'd like," I yell through a mouthful of eggs. "Okay, I texted George with a heart," She says. "It's almost like she's doing it on purpose," I shake my head and finish my eggs.
I put my dishes in the sink and hear my phone ping again. "Hey Alexa, don't read it this time," I say, walking over to look at the message. "-Okay I'm on my way-" I smile without knowing it and go to sit on the couch. "I wonder what he's coming over for?" I say to no one in particular. About twenty minutes later I hear a car pull into my driveway. I hop up and look out the window. Of course it was George and I watched as he hopped out of his car and walked up to the house.
Ugh he's so fine. I sigh and open the door. "Took you long enough," I yelled. "Sorry," He said as he walked through the door. "I didn't know you would want me to come over right away," He laughs. "Neither did I," I say mostly to myself. I clear a spot on the couch for him to sit and he sits down. "So what did you want to come over for?" I ask with a hint of hope in my voice. "Well it's kind of complicated," He said while rubbing the back of his neck. "I have something to tell you but you have to promise not to tell anyone," He said, holding a finger up to his lips. I put my hand over my heart and say, "I swear." "Good," He laughs and props his feet up on the table.
"Ugh, rude," I say, turning my head away from him. "Is that anyway to act in someone else's house," I say, crossing my arms. "You're not someone else though," He points out. I nod and tell him to continue with what he was saying.
"You promise right?" He asks again. "Promise," I say and we entwine out pinky's to show we won't break our promise. He lets out a sigh and begins, "I came here to tell you that I really like you Y/N," He looks up with a frown. I sit for a moment trying to decide whether I heard him right or I heard what I wanted to hear. "You. Like. Me," I say slowly. He nods. "I was looking for the right time to say it too," I let out a sigh and then a laugh.
Before I can say anything else I feel something warm on my lips. He kissed me! I kiss back and we sit there like that for a few minutes. When he finally pulls back, we're both panting. "I didn't even get to finish," I add. "And I haven't even started," He says, pulling me back in for another kiss. When we finally stop kissing he lets me snuggle up next to him. "Movie?" I ask grabbing the remote. "Yeah, a movie sounds nice," He says, giving me a kiss on my forehead. We both fall asleep while watching My Little Pony.
