RED- THE CURSE

Chapter 2

When it was time for breakfast, Red walked out of her room to the dining room.
Her room wasn't even a room, it was a small closet.

"Red hurry up, I can't keep waiting for you" Her mother shouted while serving the food

"Yes Mama" Red said as she sat on the dining.
The other girl looked at Red with a genuine smile which Red quickly returned.
"There you go, let me watch you eat." The woman said to Red with a smile that didn't go down well with Red
"Ok mum"
Red said as she scooped the soup. Before a minute, she was done, she was never opportune to sit with them at the table.
"Mama, another one" Red said with her mouth littered with the soup
"Get out Red, if you want another one, go to your real mom, cos am sure am not" The woman scoffed and started feeding the other girl.

Red quickly ran out of the house in tears. Just when she thought her mother was changed now, turns out it was just fake love. Sighing, she decided to visit her Dad. Since when her family had been torn, she didn't know, but all she was allowed to know was that, she was the cause.
Maybe her Dad would explain things better... Still thinking, she didn't know when she was hit by a vehicle..

"Mum, why don't you want me to interact with my sister" The little girl asked her mother

"Carol, Red is a curse. She's the reason you're fatherless." The woman said annoyed by the name 'Red' which she had to talk about
"How?, She seems nice to me though" Carol blurted out.
"Of course she does, hope she isn't bewitching you Carol. Guess what, when I gave birth to Red, she was born with a red hair and a strange mark at her back. Funny right, your dad didn't believe she was his child because the thing had no trait relating to us. We took a test only to find out, he wasn't the father, and I swear I didn't lay with any other man before then. Never have I, then how come? We took several tests in different hospitals but all the tests read the same thing. Then your father thought I was cheating then he... He.. he divorced me, all because of Red. Then just two months after giving birth to Red, I got pregnant for you, only for you to be for your father, I mean you look like us. But shit, how did all this happen, I have no idea. So you see, Red's existence tore this family apart and... I..." She sighed as she balled her fist
"I'll kill that thing, then give you the life you deserve Carol, by getting married again. And giving you a father" The woman said only to find Carol peacefully sleeping

"That wasn't a bedtime story naughty girl"
