"Beth! Wait!" Banner shouted as he followed her out on of the doors.
"No." She turned around. "You gave me up. You didn't want me and now I don't want you." Her angered fired.
"Calm down, please. Let me explain." He pleaded.
"Explain what? How you gave up your daughter? How you just left her on someone's doorstep!" She started screaming.
"No.. that's not it at all." He sighed.
"Then explain." She crossed her arms.
"It started when I fell in love. There was a nice girl, her name was Betty, I loved her so much. So much, that we had a kid. A beautiful baby girl..." He walked closer to her but she took a step back. "We loved her so much, our little Beth. Our perfect little girl, and we had to let her go. You were supposed to stay with your mom because of me. I was scared I would hurt you and her. I didn't want to hurt you, so I left. Your mom dying two years later wasn't her or my fault. She got cancer and- and we tried to heal her. We tried Steve's genetic code thinking the serum would save her. Stark tried to think of something. Nat and Clint spend months in the amazon looking for a cure. Even Thor tried Asgardian medicine, but nothing ever worked. Beth.. I'm sorry, I really am. Just looking at you now, I- I- I'm speechless. You look just like your mother, I bet you're as smart as her too. Huh?"
"Bruce, I'm in AP Chemistry, hold a 4.0 average, and the vice-president of student council." She smirked with pride, "But you wouldn't know that unless you were there."
He smiled at her, "Beth... I regret every waking moment of it. I'm also impressed."
"Should be." She smiled a little. "I will also be attending Oscorp in the summer for an internship." She nodded. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go study." She proceeded to walk out of the building.
"Wait..." Bruce said sadly. "Can I help you study?" He asked softly.
"I study on my own. Rogers' kid might need some help in the science division. She's skipping class and flunking." She said almost proudly.
"Well I can let Steve deal with that. I want to spend time with you." He walked closer to her. "Maybe we can go to the science wing and talk? I heard they have a new program quantum physics."
"I guess. I have to let my parents know though." She pulled out her phone.
"Your parents are members of S.H.I.E.L.D. they won't care that you were out with me. They'll care if you were out alone and unprotected." He told her.
"What?" She asked confused.
"Tony needed to tell everyone but since we're leaving I should go ahead and tell you." He added and she just stood there listening, "You will no longer be needing to attend your school. You will be transferred to a helicarrier above the Stark tower. There you will be trained, taught, and be protected."
"Protected? Dad, if you haven't noticed no one is after anyone of us." She remarked.
"Loki is. He's angry at us for making him loose. He's sending an army and this time he has leverage. You guys. We can't let him use you like that. We won't. You are going to be safe even if I die. He won't touch you." He reassured her.
"Promise?" Her eyes beamed up at him in a glimmer of hope that she thought of him as a father.
"Promise." He nodded before picking her up like a sack of potatoes and carrying her out the door.
