To the public, Wayne Manor had a gas leak and that's why part of it exploded. It was my job to cover up these types of accidents and I did very well. No one was the wiser except for the people there.
We couldn't exactly say that after I found a bomb on Damian I threw it in the elevator that was made of strong metal and instead of our insides being all over the walls Bruce just lost part of his manor.
It was a good trade if you ask me.
That night was hectic. We told the public that Damian got his injuries from the explosion, thus the bruised ribs and gash to the head, I was receiving calls all night and making them to get people to come and fix the manor immediately. Most of the bedrooms were destroyed and Bruce didn't want Tim and Damian there because you know, they could get hurt because it's not like they fight in the dangerous rusty criminal swarming Gotham city every night or anything.
But because they couldn't stay I took Damian and Tim.Out of all the bat siblings I was the only one who had a real house and not an apartment.
I had two extra rooms that they were going to stay in and I decided that I would keep them for two weeks and see if it was a good idea to pass them off to Bruce or if Dick and Jason wanted to take a turn.
We had to send Damian and Tim to my house immediately so Damian could rest and Tim had to watch him while I delt with the manor and everyone else.
"Okay what's going on? How did this happen to the public?" Flynn asked as he pulled open his traveling laptop while running over to me where the fire fighters were behind me dousing fire.
Flynn had orange hair and boxy glasses with a heavy splatter of dark freckles on his face. He was in khaky pants and a shirt that was obviously pulled off the floor and thrown on him. I appreciate how quick he is about answering calls. He was the first one I had called tonight and he made it here in twelve minutes of that call even though I know he just woke up. He was twenty and had been my assistant for a while now and never had I doubted his loyalty.
"As far as they know it was a gas leak." I say to him "We switched on the lights and kaboom."
Flynn nodded as he typed it up before he finally looked at me.
"Oh Um, Cedric? Your eye, it's kinda doing its own thing right now." He said as he pointed to his own left eye
"Ah, crap" I mutter as I rummage through my pocket.
The reason I'm so fine and didn't take a single injury is because I actually have a power. Regeneration. It's my most useful ability and that's how I got the job to cover things up. Sometimes my power gets overused though and my right eye, which most the power comes from, clows and gets glazed over with a shiny gold. It's extremely noticeable and only happens when I overuse my power. I guess the explosion hit hard.
Unfortunately it doesn't normally leave for a few days because its still trying to catch up to my body.
That's why I carry around an eyepatch after Flynn suggested it.
Finally I find the eye patch in my pocket and put it over my head and onto my eye.
"How's that look?" I ask him.
He thumbs me up and went back to the computer.
The night was filled with phone calls. I had to deal with all of them because Bruce refused to do anything about it but instead went on a Batman rage to figure out who could have possibly tried to kill his son.
So that was fun.
Around eight am I had everything stable and Flynn said he'd cover everything so I could run home and take a shower before the real day starts.
