"What do you want?" I ask, hiding my face in my knees. Only my eyes could betray me now and I could never let him see me like this.

"I wanted to help you. I saw Brandon walk out of here and I knew something was wrong." He crossed the room to me, "Are you okay?"

I looked at him, knowing that my eyes would betray me. "Im fine." I smiled through the tears. They started coming down harder, and everything went blurry. I looked to my knees, shame spreading across my features. "I couldn't do anything," I whispered. "I tried before but he is just too powerful for me. I had no chance of getting away." I looked up at him as I spoke the last few words. I had never really noticed the way his light brown (almost blonde) hair layed just right. I stared into his eyes and caught my breath. They were so blue that it made me dizzy just to look at them. I had known this boy my whole life and I was just now relizing he was turning into a man.

"You didn't have to get away, Lauren. You just have to survive. I am here to help take care of you." There was a long pause. "Lauren, I have to tell you something." He whispered the words like it was something that may cost him his life.

He looked at me and took a deep breath."Lauren, I love you."

"What?" I asked, suprise running across my features."For how long?"

He looked at me and a smile slowly came across his face."Since the day I met you."

"Really? You have loved me since the day you met me and you never told me?"

"I didn't want to ruin our friendship. You ment to much to me to give up." He looked at his hands and studied them like he had never seen them before.

"You should have told me still." He looked at me with confusion written all over his face, so I continued, "Because I love you too."

"Really?" his face brightened up and my comment.

"Yeah." I smiled knowing somewhere in my heart that he was the one. My heart fell when I remembered Brandon."But there is still Brandon I have to deal with and frankly, I am too scared to do anything."

He got up and held out his hand for me. Looking down at me, he smiled."We don't have to worry about him right now, he's not nearly as important." I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. When I was standing I realized his hand was still entwined with mine and smiled. I looked into his eyes and caught my breath again. My heart started beating at a million miles a minute.

He smiled that sexy smile that would make anyone fall, "Let's get you to class." The bell rang signaling the end of class, and the end of my old life.
