Theodore didn't like doing a lot of things, but his one distraction was always writing. Writing was like the thing he could never not like.
All day, everyday. It was him and that was all he needed. He could make worlds, he could make ventures. He could make things no one could have ever dreamed of.
But not only that— he could also make a world with him and his sister .In this world, they would go to a place no one has ever been before, with tall trees and giant bugs. Ooo! Or mushrooms and large bears the size of a temple !Once he was out, he could do all those things, he would see his sister and play in a fantasy world and dance and write all day!
But now, he was stuck inside of the house.
The house. Such an odd word, a place he was kept and stolen away from everyone.
He was surrounded by other kids, some his age and some were not. Before, he used to love it there, playing as much as he wanted. Never having any responsibilities.
He had his sister, who could be a little anxious sometimes but other than that she was AMAZING.
That was until she left. She left him, alone. By himself.
Now everyday, he dreaded. Hoping he would one day escape this nightmare.
He remembered the last words his sister had said, though blurry it was something like; That question lies in your heart. My heart is beating and soon I will see them, they have my heart and one day you will see that as well, but in your place
And what exactly was that supposed to mean? He was twelve now and he still couldn't figure out what that meant at all. All he could get out of it is that his question will one day get an answer if he keeps thinking about it. But you see—I have been thinking about it for seven years now and I think I have no clue what the round jewels you're talking about!
But it was fine.
He will get through it since he doesn't really have much of a choice anyways
He looked around, he was eating food and his plate was filled with beef stew. "You're going to eat that right?" A kid leaned over him and tilted their head.
Theo picked up his stew and hid covered himself over it. "Yes. Do you mind?"
The kid shrugged and went back to eating her food
Theo breathed out and a second later the kid spoke up again. "Are you okay?"
Theo didn't say anything, he was puzzled. "Okay?" He asked. "Didn't Elder teach you manners? You don't ask kids if they're okay."
The kid shrugged and rolled there eyes "Well your eyes went all white and you're just staring at your food. I learned from the nurse that if someone looks sick you should ask them if they're alright." she said with a bright smile upon her face, purely innocent like she had never done anything wrong in her life.
Theo only tightened his mouth, a little embarrassed he replied "Well she said to ask if they're alright. Not okay. That's just plain rude."
The kid rolled her eyes and shook their head "Alright—okay. Same thing, no difference. Just tell me, are you okay/alright picky person?"
Finally, Theo decided to look up at the kid. It looked like a girl, though she looked a few years younger than him. She was maybe eleven or twelve. She had long amber red hair and green eyes. "R-Ruby?" He stammered, backing away. The girl shook her head, puzzled. No, she looks younger, Ruby was older. And by now she's probably seventeen. Also Ruby had red eyes and her hair was more reddish.
