The story continues with him thrown into slavery, him escaping, a master in sorcerer and swordmanship took him in taught him, he learned as much as he could seeked for, him wanting to bring his parents back to life from the dead even when it sound impossible to anyone though with the history of magic and the mysterys of impossible things he believed he could bring them back to life also his sister that didn't survive the slavery system.
On his search for power to bring back the dead, he experience many things got power from many life endangering situation, though as unlucky as he was he survived, at a time in his quest he meet the gods who created the world through a woman, the gods couldn't fulfill his wish they could create 'new' but mortal death to a person, the soul destroys or disintegrate or pass over to the next.
He went blizzard attacking the gods with power he gained saying how useless they were if they were gods why couldn't they fulfill his one wish, though he was strong there were gods, so they cursed him 'death' that "he would be immortal but even though he did die, he soul would live forever in time in different worlds and the places he goes death shall follow".
