"Captain Man!"

"What about Captain Man?" Henry asked as we sat on the sofa, Charlotte doing her algebra homework on the floor, I played on my phone, Jasper was looking at videos of Captain man and Henry was looking for available jobs he could do. "Did you guys see what he did yesterday?" Jasper asked us, looking at his phone and back at us, fascinated. "Can we focus on algebra?" "There was a fire at a pet store and Captain Man ran inside, right through the flames, and saved all the animals and he didn't even get hurt."

"Captain Man never gets hurt. He's a beast." I commented, not looking up from my phone. "You know, someday, when you guys are cleaning my swimming pool because you failed this algebra test, then flunked out of school, I hope you remember this moment, 'cause I will." Charlotte sassed as usual and continued her work. "But algebra's boring." I whined looking up from my phone and she rolled her eyes at me. "Hey, here's a cool job I could do. Foot model!" Henry said and raised his foot onto the coffee table. "You guys, can we go over the list for my birthday party?" Jasper asked and me and Henry were going to say yes but Charlotte cut us off. "Sure!-" "No!-"

"No!-" We yelled after her. "But I invited 52 people and nobody's texted me back yet." Jasper sighed. "What does that mean?" "That people have been to your parties before?" Henry sarcastically said and I punched him in the arm. "Don't worry, Jasper. Who needs 52 people when you have us three?" "Thanks, Sam." he smiled. Glad I could make him feel better. He turned to Henry and glared at him. "My parties aren't that bad." He scoffed and ate a chip from the bowl that was next to him. Charlotte looked up from her work and gave him a look. "Christmas. Three years ago. Fifteen kids ended up in the hospital!" "Cause of your raw turkey." Henry added. "It was turkey sushi." I raised my eyebrows. "A boy almost died." "Almost!" He retaliated back.

"Okay-" Henry raised his arms fed up with the conversation. He put the laptop on the couch. "- First person who helps me find an after-school job gets this bowl of pinecones." Jasper gasped at the mention of pinecones. "Why do you even need a job?" "Forget the job, why pinecones? Could I have chocolate instead?" I shrugged as they gave me a look and decided between each other to ignore me. "I want this job to learn responsibility, challenge myself.-"

"He wants money." I cut him off and answered for him. "I want money!" He confirmed. "Money's good." I nodded in agreement. "Can we please talk about my birthday?"  Jasper continued to whine as Charlotte made her way over to him. "Oh, am I gonna have to slap a boy?" We quietly giggled as we put our attention to our devices. Just then I hear Henry's mum come down the stairs with the laundry basket. "Henry, can you please tell me, how in the world-oh, I didn't know Jasper, Sam and Charlotte were here." Jasper stood up from his seat and smiled at her. "We're studying." "Are we?" Charlotte asked rhetorically while I mumbled." Obviously." I heard Henry snicker to himself at that and I smiled a little.

"Mom, we're right in the middle of some-" He tried to tell her. "-I'm not interrupting." Okay, thanks." He yelled and went over to his laptop again but his mum had more to say. "I just have a question about your underwear." She held out the blue underwear.
