"Can't promise dat" I said shaking my head, I was currently packing bags for the children in the neighborhood.
"Make sure you find yo way here or imma fuck you up" Grandpa said before hanging up not even a bye.
Each bag had the name of the kids on it so they know which one is which, i watched as they ran back into the building from recess.
"Ms.R!, i caught a butterfly!" A boy named Yariel said holding it by its wings showing me.
"That's so pretty, but instead of holding it by it's wings put it on your finger"
"But it's gon fly away, ion want that"
"Yes but your hurting it by holding its wings" i said, i watched him eventually give in letting it go and it crawled to the top of his finger, not flyin away.
"It likes me" he said and inspecting it
"see" i said smiling watching his face light up.
"It's orange! that was my mamas favorite color" He said makin me give him a sad smile remembering his mother passed away not to long ago.
"My birthday tomorrow" Jailyn said spinning in her skirt
"Girl shut up, been sayin it all morning we don't care" Damaya said, she was 12 and had the biggest attitude I'd ever seen in a kid.
"Ain't nobody talkin to you maya, you mad yo mama can't celebrate yo birthday cause all she can do is turn over" she waved her off and I saw tears form in Damayas eyes.
"turn over?" Kingsley said lookin as confused as me
"in her grave!" She said and Kingsley started dyin laughin.
"Awe shit" I said shakin my head and slapping Kingsley in the back of his head
"Jailyn you cant say things like that cause if dat was yo mama you wouldn't like that and Damaya stop bothering people and you won't end up in situations like this"
