Chapter 4. 날 믿지 마.

Ro Joon stared at me and chuckled. I scratched the back of my head. Why was he chuckling? 

" Isn't it a bad thing? They know our- complicated stuff. "

I said worriedly. 

" It doesn't matter much to me. I don't have a lot of people I love or want to impress"

" This contains me as well. I am a detective! People will think I am crazy to help you! "

I yelled. Ro Joon looked at me.

" So don't let them know. "

" But they do. I wasn't productive today. or I should say I was acting dumb. "

I covered my head with my arms. Fear seized my body. 

" I don't even know why I am helping you! It's wrong. "

" It's for your family. The ones you care about. "

" Trying to manipulate me? "

" It's not manipulation when it's true. I told you I would kill your family if you don't work with me. So I am not manipulating you. I am threatening you. "

I glared at him.

" Wow, that makes everything so much better. I am still going to be known as a criminal. Alongside you. "

Ro Joon leaned back and replied. 

" Don't worry so much. Besides I am not that dumb. We just need a specific plan. "

" Where...? "

" To my place. "

Oh shit. How can I trust him not to kill me? Thank god I had a knife in my pocket. 

" Again don't worry so much. I won't smash your head with a hammer. "

I smiled and looked out the window. I might die tonight. I held my knife more firmly. 

A few minutes later, I was in Ro Joon's torture room. I sat down.  

" So about the plan. What should we do? "

" We shouldn't act so obvious. You kept on staring at me rather than the cops. Which means you were a bit paranoid. "

" How can I not be?! "

I touched my forehead, frustration clawed me down and I just wanted to be done. 

" Should I just call off the investigation? "

I asked crutching my head. 

" Do you have an explanation? "

" No. "

I groaned. He smiled. 

" Then that's not an option. "

" Then what do you want me to do! "

I asked. 

" As I said so, stop staring at me. And focus. If they say something about me, I can defend myself you know? "

He chuckled. 

" I- I wasn't trying to defend you- "

" You did several times. "

" I- alright. I admit I did defend you several times. "

I admitted. It's embarrassing. 

" And stop looking at me. Like I am contorling you. "

" You are- "

" Yes but still. "

" I'll try my best. "
