"Alright, breathe... breathe Y/n..." Y/n stared intensely at her phone as she punched in the ten digit number into it. After taking a few deep breaths, she calmed herself down and pressed the call button.
The phone rang for a few seconds, the anxious Y/n started to doubt herself until the phone was finally picked up.
"H-hello?" Y/n spoke first.
"Who is this?" An older woman's voice came through. Y/n was about to get a heart attack, she wondered if it was a joke or something.
"MOM! I told you that you don't have to pick up my calls for me!" The familiar voice said in a sigh.
"Sheesh, I was just trying to help," Gaeul's mom said from afar.
"Sorry Y/n, my mom is always like that," Gaeul grumbles. A couple of footsteps, a slam of a door, then another sigh followed from the other side.
"You alright?" Y/n asked in a worried voice.
"Yea, just a lot of things I need to do. Being the student council president is a lot of work y'know?" Gaeul jokes.
"Yea, I could imagine bossing those annoying ass people," Y/n's eyes widened, she accidentally cursed in-front of her senior! Oh god she messed up. "Ah, sorry for cursing! I didn't mean it!"
Gaeul laughed her heart out on the other line, "Ah, that was funny, jeez no one had made me laugh this hard in such a long time."
"O-oh"
"It's alright, I'm more relaxed with honorifics when it comes to people I'm more fond of."
Gaeul was fond of her! Y/n had never thought of the day that someone like her would like Y/n.
"O-oh, thank you?"
"Haha, think of it as a compliment," Gaeul chuckles, "So, why'd you call?"
"I-"
"Wait let me guess," Gaeul thought for a second, tapping her chin lightly, "you wanted to see if I really gave you my number, right? Did I make you curious?"
"Um... well, yea, you kind of let me there and ran away after you wrote your number on my wrist. It was unexpected but it really was then I couldn't miss the chance and leave you hanging." Y/n explained.
"Hmm, I see, then I really did succeed! My plan actually worked," Gaeul jokes.
"I guess so," Y/n laughs along.
The two continued to talk through the night, cracking some jokes here and there and eventually Y/n found herself becoming more comfortable with Gaeul. Unknowingly to herself, her perspective of Gaeul started to change from this unreachable person to a normal quirky and hard working person whom many people looked up to. All those rumors that Y/n had heard before all started to fade.
"Well, I have to go now, see you tomorrow!" Gaeul says.
"Yep! Bye!" And the phone hangs up.
Y/n sighs and looks over at the clock, it was already midnight. "Damn, we talked for three hours..." Y/n reminisced back to when they talked on the phone. It was just a few seconds ago that they hung up but she already started to miss talking to her.
Y/n closes her eyes, hoping that tomorrow will come quickly.

Y/n had begun realizing that she had been going to the school's music room more and more lately, maybe it's because of how determined she was to be in that competition.
