The 4-lettered word life
Many a person think it is breathing
Others think it is living
Some say, "it's just the regular thing we do everyday"

Life is more than that
Life is like an event, for it happens
That is why most people say, "life happened"
You face a problem, "life happened"
And it actually did

Unlike the regular events that are optional
Life isn't
You don't have a choice but to attend
The event of life has to happen

Young, old, teenager, toddler
Life does not have a guest list
Rich, poor, middle-class
Life does not give a damn

Christian, Muslim, traditionalist or even haters
Life will still happen to everyone of you

Your father could be a politician or a farmer
Life would happen and you might switch places
Einstein's son or Soyinka's
Life would happen and you could be as dumb as your fathers were smart

One notable thing about life
Is that it can't be manipulated
You can't bend it like plastic to your favor
Instead you can utilize it for your own good

When the event, life happens
You can either go home with a lot of good things...good things from life
Or you could go home with insults and a bruised ego which brings you down

Like every event,
life will always come to an end,
though at different times for
different people
What one goes home with
determines how well I'm enjoyed
The event life

In the end,
No matter how much we try to avoid it
Life will happen.
