I ran and ran and ran. The only things i had in my so called "bag" that day was a knife, a bit of bread and a pouch of water. I was wearing my brother's haori; white with rough stitches at the ends. There was a tiny splotch of blood on the inside, but i didnt mind.

I ran until the sun started to set. My eyes would water every now and then, when i remembered that onii-chan had become some sort of monster. He could've already died, but i couldnt bring myself to think of that too often.

Eventually, the sun had set completely, and the only things i could see lingering in the sky was a few wisps of clouds, few birds, the moon and a slight pink ish tint at the bottom.

I stopped in front of a small cottage after the pink tint had disappeared and rapped lightly on the door.

A middle aged woman in a plain dirty pink yukata with a pearly white (but slightly stained) apron on opened the door, looking as if she was just preparing her children's meals. Her tired, hazel eyes settled on my (e/c) eyes. She must've noticed that they were all puffy from me crying, or that there was red underneath them, for i was wiping my tears by constantly rubbing the sleeves of my kimono on my eyes, because after a moment she put on a sympathetic look on her face and waited for me to speak.

"Can i... please stay here for a night?" I managed after a bit of trying not to burst out crying again. I was in a weak position.

"Of course you can, young lady" responded the woman, still with the sympathetic look.

She led me inside her little cottage that was pretty empty, apart from the few essentials for a house, and insisted i sat down and take a rest. Thank god she was a kind one, i thought to myself, smiling.

Im sure one of her kids found their way to my "bag", because when i picked it up later a quarter of my bread was missing. Yay.

The woman then gave me some onigiris and i carefully ate them as she prepared a futon for me. "Arigatogosaimasu!" I thanked. "No no, its all quite alright!" She chuckled. "If i may ask, what is a lovely girl like you doing all out on her own?" She asked.

"Well..." i began. I couldnt bring myself to think about what had happened to BN. "i dont really want to talk about it.." i muttered. "If its really that bad then i wont ask you any more questions" she suggested. I nodded in response. I took off my kimono and settled into the futon, forgetting what had happened that day. But the dreams werent as good as i felt.

What happened that day kept on replaying in my dreams. Each time it got worse.

"YN.." BN breathed. I was suddenly back in my house, looking at the exact same scene i was looking at a few hours ago. I stared in shock and horror.

BN was drenched in blood.. and the man kneeling beside him turned around to look at me. "W-who are you?" I whimpered. The man simply smiled in a  menacing way and walked towards me.

What... what...

I grabbed a knife in a drawer and pounced at him, hoping i would be able to at least get a stab at him. "You cant do anything to me" he said, with a horrifying smile on his pale face.

He vanished.

I landed flat onto the tatami mats. My eyes were still wide from the shock. My head snapped upwards to look at BN. "ANI-CHAN!" I cried as i looked at his wounds.

Tears were uncomfortably escaping my once dry eyes, pouring down my cheeks. I held himcloss for this coukdve been the last time i see him alive.

His blood was soiling the mats, even on my clothes. But i didnt care. I took off his blank haori and tried to treat his wounds, only to realise they were already healed.
