The sound of chirping birds. The warm, golden light caressing my skin and the sensation of silk sheets on me are the first few things I sense when I wake up in bed. Thoughts swarm my head as I try to savour this moment, I could be overreacting, but this man needs to stop carrying me like we've been friends for years.

Ok, moment over, I rise to my feet as I get up and head to the bathroom, brushing my teeth, taking a body shower and doing my skin routine, which only consists of a cleanser, by the way, I believe overuse of any facial products damages it more. Choosing an outfit wasn't that difficult, just jeans and a t-shirt would suffice, no need to dress up anyway.

"Morning, Teddy." Jake says from behind, startling me. "Good morning." I say with a smile. He automatically places his hand on

the small of my back and guides me to the kitchen, "We're officially getting married in a few days, how're you feeling?"

"I actually need to talk to you about something."

"Yeah, shoot"

"You don't have to tiptoe around me, I'm fine. Something else, I don't really feel comfortable that you're touching me this early when we really don't know each other fully yet, It's not that I don't trust you, It's just that I was taught when there's unwanted touch, my brain automatically goes to defence mode and I would really hate leaving you with a bruise."

He laughs, he freaking laughs in my face, like a full on laugh. "You think you can bruise me?" He says while trying so hard to hold in his laughter. Sexist much?

"No no, I don't think I can, I'm sure I can bruise you." I say while crossing my arms defensively.

"I'm sorry that came out wrong it's just that there's a huge height difference between us and I can't take it seriously, but really, thank you for telling me that you're uncomfortable, once we've built trust and gotten to know each other, we'll work it out."

"You didn't have to point out the height." I roll my eyes as I chuckle. "But thank you, Jake, really." I sincerely say. He stiffens "You're welcome, Teddy, and you should definitely start saying my name more." He says while grinning.

We both part our ways after having breakfast, which was pancakes, my all time favourite breakfast. Jake heads to his office to finish off some work and I head off to the the TV room watching some Grey's Anatomy, after finishing a few episodes, a knock comes on the door. "I hope I'm not disturbing you." He says as he enters the TV room and stopping at the foot of the couch, right above my head, "So, I called your parents and invited them over for the weekend, I also told them to inform you closest friends-"

"Wait, for what, exactly?"

"For our wedding, Teddy, what else did you think?" He says.

It's like an ice bucket of water falls on me, my eyes started to water, and I hug my eyes while fighting back tears to not make him feel like I didn't want to marry him.

"Take it easy, Teddy, we'll just get married on papers and that's it it's nothing more than that, then after that it will be as if we're roommates, it's your choice when you really want to be a happily married couple or end it, but for now, we need to act as one, just so the outside world thinks we're one, okay?"

"Okay, yeah, okay sure, that's easy. Just a façade then, right?" I reply, finding his speech slightly reassuring.

"Yeah, just a facade." He says in a softer tone.

"It's just that I thought that we're gonna get married and just announce it to everyone, I thought that I was never gonna see my family again."

He puts his finger under my chin and tips it up. "I'm not a bad guy, I promise, you need to know that it's not my intention to hurt you, besides, I have many other things that are waaaay more important than planning to hurt you, like, I don't know, running a mafia maybe?" He says sarcastically and I chuckle.
