Tides
The sun was already starting to lighten the sky even though it wasn't visible on the horizon. Luffy had been looking for his friends for some time now, but all the people around were event staff and a few other partygoers who were left over from the night. The boy felt pain in his feet from having spent so much time on his feet, running from tent to tent, so he just headed for the hotel, desperately wanting a shower.
The way to the hotel took no more than ten minutes walking and arriving there, the boy took the elevator alone, imagining himself inside the hot tub, finally relaxing after a long night. As soon as the elevator doors opened, he saw the long, spacious hallway in front of him, at one of the windows, Law was leaning back, facing out.
Luffy went to him in a silent way, leaning against the wall next to the other, in an attempt to announce that he was there without scaring the other – Luffy wasn't usually silent or polite, but he had received too many threats from Nami before they did. the check-in.
— Brat. — Law said in a slurred way, initially the boy thought it was because of the drink, but when he faced the older one, he had a cigarette in his mouth.
— Where did that shit come from?
— I met Sanji outside, he offered it to me and I took it. — his lips let smoke escape as he said. The light of the rising sun was illuminating Law's face. Luffy couldn't erase his words, they burned inside his mind like a light bulb burns its own image in closed eyes. There was no escape. And the boy's heart hammering inside his chest was the biggest realization of that.
— Aren't you going to your room? — Luffy desperately wanted to escape those feelings that were escaping from the cage that was his heart, like runaway birds. At the same time, he wanted to feel free and feeling those feelings felt like freedom itself.
— I wanted to see you before I went to sleep. — Law's husky voice was a punishment, but Luffy lived in punishment, so that was good for his ears. —And I also lost my key. Actually, I was thinking we'd go out and dance again.
Law threw the cigarette butt out the window, proving that he wasn't yet at his full mental faculties – after all, when he saw Sanji throw the butt like that, Trafalgar almost made the blonde reach for it with his mouth.
He also made sure to start humming a song at a higher pitch than would be socially acceptable at five in the morning, all while dancing in the middle of the aisle.
A voice in the back of Luffy's head – some would call it reason, others impulsiveness, but Luffy would call it "I'm-not-ready-to-die-at-Nami's-hands" – made him grab Law by the wrist and drag him along into the room before anyone had a chance to make a call to complain to the concierge.
— Is this a flirt, brat? — the tremendously suggestive voice made Luffy think twice before answering that question.
— You smell, you need a shower. — a mischievous smile appeared on Trafalgar's lips. — Leave the door unlocked, I'll stay close in case you need anything.
— Do you want to leave the door so you can have free access to my body?
— You're too drunk, in two hours you'll regret it so much.
Trafalgar laughed but did not argue. He walked through the room which was dark from the heavy drapes closed, taking off his shirt in the process of walking to the master bathroom.
Luffy never minded seeing people naked, it wasn't exactly interesting to him – after all he'd seen himself naked since he was born, it wasn't that different seeing other people in the same way – but that didn't stop his gaze from being drawn to the tattoos stamped on the other's body.
