Once upon a time, there was a rose who lived in a beautiful garden in a lovely house. Her biggest wish was to have other flowers as friends since she was alone with a tree. So she was hopefully waiting for the day that her owners will give her a friend.
In that house lived a woman named Lisa with her son, Michael. The boy was turning ten years on that week and for his birthday, he asked his mother to plant more flowers on their garden in order to make it more beautiful and colorful. Lisa, was a intelligent and gentle young lady and she was very fond of flowers of any type and also had a favorite one, so she liked Michael's ideia. However, that year was a tough one and Lisa will not be able to pay for many flowers, so she told Michael that she could only give him just one. The boy got sad for a while because he really wanted his garden to be more alive and colorful, but, few hours later he was settled.
The birthday has arrived and Michael was very excited to get his new flower. He and Lisa decided to go together to the floriculture to pick one right in the morning. Getting there, the florist showed them roses, violets, tulips and many flowers, but they were too expensive for Lisa to pay. They could only buy one little sunflower because the florist said that she found it tossed in a box in the middle of the street so the price was lower. Therefore, the boy could take care of the flower by watering, giving it sunlight and, of course, love. They left the shop happy and excited, anxious to plant the sunflower on their garden.
On their way to house, a woman stoped them saying that she had a gift for the boy, at the beginning they did not understand because they did not know her, but she just told them to accept the gift. Few minutes later, after much insisting, Lisa and Michael accepted the gift, which was in a considerably big box. When they got home, they left the box in a room and Michael ran out into the garden to start to dig a hole on the floor. Lisa helped him trying to calm him down. First, they planted the sunflower on the expectitation of take care of it with all of their hearts. Then, they went into the house to finish Michael's birthday party. The day was fun and they had some friends there to celebrate. Around nine p.m they were very tired and ready to go to bed.
On the next day, Michael woke up and, again, ran into the garden to see and water the rose and the sunflower. Then, he remembered of the big box that the woman gave to him the day before. By getting in the room Where they left it, the boy faced the box thinking on what was inside it. He started to tear the paper that wrapped the box and it was then that he saw three beautiful flowers inside the box. They were orquideas, his mom favorite flower.
Lisa woke up with Michael's screaming and ran to see what was happening. When she got in the room, her son was holding the three flowers at once, he was thrilling. Both went into the garden and started to plant the orquideas right away. After finishing their work, they just sat in front of the flowers and watched how beautiful it was. They were really happy.
At the end of the day, Lisa and Michael were watching TV in the leaving room, at the meantime, there was a rose in the garden who was extremely happy since now she had not only one friend, but several. The family and the flower will never know who was the woman that gave them the flower, but they do know, it changed their lives.
