Hunting at night wasn't a first for Owen. Whenever he feels like it, he gears up for night hunting. It is however, a first for him to hunt at night without having a gear.
Well, the only gear he has were his claws and rows of sharp teeth.
They had been familiar with the I-Rex's scent after their initial attack against her so they were using that to track her down.
Owen thought they were running at a moderate pace but then realized that they were deliberately slowing down because he was running too slow.
C'mon Owen. Go faster. Lower your body.
He had been running like a human would. He needed to destroy that habit if they were to catch up to the I-Rex fast. Lowering his body to the point Owen thought he felt the blades of the tall grass from under his snout, he gained a burst of speed to which his girls roared with exhilaration.
Blue had never felt this excited since her hatchling years with Alpha. She and her sisters slowed down from their normal speed to accomodate Alpha since he may still not be used to their species body.
He surprised her yet again when he suddenly ran past them with a speed that fits his rank as Alpha. She and her sisters quickly increased their speed as they ran across the forest, looking perfectly at home. Free with no walls to restrict them.
Blue couldn't resist roaring out. Alpha glanced at her and she wondered if she had done something wrong only to receive an answering roar of his own.
No fair Alpha.

Barry watched them as they ran in zig zag motions as if they weren't sure at first where they should put themselves. The raptors were running at a slow pace which confused Barry until he noticed Owen suddenly running ahead which made the others increase their speed, roaring out. They quickly went into what appeared to be a dice 5 formation with Owen at the middle.
Oh, so that's what it was.
Part of him was a bit envious of Owen for having to experience what it's like with pack hunting velociraptors. Another part of him was worried, the more he took notice of Owen running alongside the raptors, the more he saw the velociraptor Alpha take charge of the pack hunt.
Checking his tracking device, he called out to Owen "Owen!, Hoskins and his men are gaining on us from behind!" All he got was an answering bark.

Owen heard Barry's call and barked out a reply but his human side had taken a backseat. Right now, the raptor that was responsible for the attack on the dimorphodon, the primal part of him was in charge as he led his pack to their prey.
Chase. Hunt.
The instincts sang within him and Owen was glad Barry was at least a few distances away from them otherwise he wasn't sure what he might do if he went near them.

Claire had stayed back inside on the truck with her nephews and Zara. Both girls were watching the live video feed real time from the dash cam of the military vehicles and some strapped to on the men.
Claire had wanted to take her nephews back to the docks personally but decided not to. It was more dangerous out there where the I-Rex might just spring up than here.
She would wait until something happens.
Hearing the window sliding open, her nephews watched the live video feed.
I hope everything goes well.
She prayed that would be the outcome. Even if Owen had managed to somehow avoid his raptors from following the I-Rex, there was a bigger part of her that feels like something would go terribly wrong.
