Chapter 15

"Y/N!" Steve cried. "No!" Steve rushed to her side and desperately fought to lift the heavy stone column off Y/N's still body. It wouldn't budge. He wouldn't give up until Y/N was saved. With a roar, Steve lifted again, straining for his last ounce of strength that might make a difference. As sweat poured down his face and arms, something strange began to happen to him.

A light surrounded him, soft at first, then glowing brighter and brighter. Steve felt strength pour into his muscles. He lifted the heavy column into the air. 

Lying on the ground, the pain nearly unbearable, Y/N smiled. "Loki's deal is broken. He promised I wouldn't get hurt."

Steve tossed the pillar aside and rushed to cradle Y/N in his arms. "Why, why did you- you didn't have to-"

Y/N with a smile said "People always do crazy things... when they're in love."

"Oh, Y/N. I- I- " Steve stuttered.

"Are you... always this articulate?" she joked. Then she touched his cheek. "You haven't got much time.You can still stop Loki."

"I'll watch over her, Punk." Bucky said gently.

Reluctantly Steve laid Y/N in Bucky's arms "You're gonna be all right. I promise."

With one last look at his beloved Y/N, Steve leapt on Pegasus, "Let's go Pegasus!" They streaked off into the heavens.

The captured gods of Asgard moaned as Kaecilius and Yon-rogg led them away in chains.

Inside the throne room Thor was buried in darkness. " I swear to you, Loki, when I get out of this..."

"I'm the one giving orders now, bolt boy!" Loki barked. He leaned back as his cloud formed into a throne "And I think I'm gonna likeit here." He reached for his drink and took a sip.

"Don't get too comfortable, Loki!" A voice rang out.

Loki sputtered and spun around. It couldn't be Steve.

Steve and Pegasus swooped among the gods, smashing their chains by throwing his shield and setting them free. With a defiant yell, the gods took up their weapons against the Titans.

Loki couldn't believe it. "Get them!" he ordered.

Then Steve ran to his father, with his bare hand Steve tore open the darkness cage apart. "Thank you, my boy."

Thor called Mjollnir to him then "Hah! Now watch your old man work!" With practised aim, he hurled thunder via Mjollnir at the Titans.

The giant Titans were not stupid. They turned and tried to flee. Steve and Pegasus flew after them. Steve grabbed Dormammu and whirled him around like a lasso. The darkness vacuumed the other Titans up, then Steve hurled them out into space. They would never bother his father or anyone else again.

"Thanks a ton, Wonderboy!" Loki was getting away in his chariot. "But at least I've got one swellconsolation prize" he sneered. "A friend of yours who's dying to see me."

For a moment, Steve frowned. What did that mean?

Then it hit him. "Y/N."
