Alaia, can't talk, so when she (or any of the other characters) are speaking in sign language it will be in this font. I have haven't been able to.

Author's POV.

It was a warm summer afternoon. Kassian sat in the shade, under a tree in the park. He was waiting for Alaia to return, she had run off and convenienced him not to follow her.

This wasn't the first time she had done something like this, and she never went very far; so he wasn't very worried.

After waiting for what seemed like about fifteen minutes quick footfall, came towards the tree Kassian was sitting under.

Kassian's POV.

I hear snapping branches and cruncheing leafs, so I look up. Alaia was running towards me with a big smile on her face.

When she stopped, I stand up and smile at her.

"Welcome back! Did you do something fun?" I ask.

She nods and holds out one of her hands. It was balled into a fist and thin pieces of plastic stuck out of the small gaps between her fingers.

"What's that?" I ask her, curiously.

She looks at my hand, then at the hand she was holding out, then back at my face.

"You want me to hold out my hands?"

She nods, so I cup my hands close together and extend my arm so that, there little under, Alaia's hand.

She opens her fist and a bunch of colorful candys drop into my hands.

I give Alaia a confused look but she just smile and drop her hand to her side.

"Thank you, but where did you get these?" I question.

"LJ" she replys.

"Who's LJ?"

"He's my friend"

"You're friend?"

She nods.

"What does LJ look like?"

"He's tall, he has a pointy nose..."

She continues giving me details about LJ's appearances. He sounds like an imaginary friend, but I go along with it.

Someone in the park probably gave her the candy. And she's not hurt so I don't mind.

"LJ sounds cool, i'd love to meet him one day" I say cheerfully. Even tho he's imaginery to me, he's real to her and I don't wanna upset her.

Alaia nods, quickly.

"He even made me a balloon animal. But it popped. I'm sure he'd love to meet you" she signs, excitedly.

~Time skip, to the next day~ 
Alaia's POV

Me and Kai, held hands as we walked through town. He wouldn't tell me where we were going, but he said I would like it.

I try to be patient but the longer we walk, the more curious I get. A couple of minutes later I tug on his sleeve.

"Yeah?" He asks, turning his head to look at me.

"Are we almost there?"

"Yep! Just wait a little longer."

Soon, I see a big sign that says 'ZOO' on it.

"Here we are!" Kai, announces, proudly.

I happily tug on his sleeve, so he turns his head.

"We're gonna look at all the animals?!"

"Mhm! There's an event happening, so all kids under the age of twelve can go in for free; so long as there's a grown-up with them." He explains.

"But we don't have a grown-up with us"

"Yeah, but there's a bunch of elementary school classes here on a feld trip. We can go in with one of them."

"Okay!"

Author's POV

Kassian and Alaia, were behind a small library; curled up next to each other, wrapped in a warm blanket.

They usually slept in the park, but they were to tired to walk back; and it was already dark.

They were useing their backpacks as pillows. And even tho it wasn't very comfortable, they managed to fall asleep.
