“Jimin you need to find an omega.” Taehyung complains to his best friend, watching as said alpha paces around his living room. Having just come home from a very horrible date, one in which the omega immediately begged to be fucked and to have kids, Jimin isn’t really in the mood to talk about this.

Jimin sighs, collapsing on the sofa next to his best friend, it is easy for him to say, he already has an alpha, things were easy. He just has to sit back enjoying the rest of his life with Hoseok while Jimin struggled over finding someone. It’s not like omegas didn’t throw themselves at the very handsome, very muscular alpha, it’s just that the ones that did have an interest were either a) girls or b) people that were only interested in sex.

“It isn’t that simple Tae, I just haven’t found the right one yet.” A hand pats his shoulder gently, a comforting gesture of someone that wants to help but doesn’t really understand. And Jimin gets it, he’s an alpha, Taehyung is an omega, obviously they are different.

He thinks back to high school, when the pair of best friends were constantly bombarded by their parents to get together. Oh how easy it would have been, neither of them would have had to spend years searching, instead finding purchase in the other’s embrace. But things weren’t that easy, and Jimin knew that Taehyung was only his friend. Watching Taehyung come over and hug Jimin that first time, smelling the distinct scent of someone that wasn’t Taehyung, Jimin knew what happened, but his suspicions were confirmed when Taehyung said, “Hobi marked me!” Jimin knew it would happen, the two were hopelessly in love, but Jimin secretly hoped he would find someone soon. It’s two years later and Jimin isn’t sure when that “soon” will happen.

“You know you only have a few years, bro.” Taehyung’s words only cut deeper, reminding Jimin why he was so distraught over not finding an omega in the first place. In only two and a half short years, he would be dead if he didn’t have his own partner. It wasn’t really fair when you look at the grand scheme of things, turning twenty five was supposed to be an amazing thing, and yet it could bring death unto ones that haven’t found their match.

Silence envelopes the apartment, and Jimin sighs, he knows his career of dancing could be cut short if he doesn’t find someone. Yet the thought doesn’t scare him necessarily his mind seems to hold out the hope of “Not much longer.”

“I know!” Taehyung shouts, jumping up from the couch and pointing at Jimin. Said man raises his eyebrows, curious about the new idea his best friend has come up with. “I will set you up on a blind date!”

Immediately, Jimin shakes his head, concerned about Taehyung’s new hairbrained plan.

“Why not? I know the perfect person, he is super cool and an awesome omega.” Taehyung explains, and slowly, Jimin warms up to the idea. How bad can it be? He thinks as he begins nodding, getting up from the couch and smiling at Taehyung.

“I guess so. Thanks Tae.” Jimin smiles, trying to be hopeful, imagining who this mysterious omega was. “So what is his name?”
