The Discovery

NOTE: Hello guys miss me. I am Back, with a new chapter after a year or so I guess. I really excuse for the long hiatus except for being lazy, IRL problems, and losing some motivation by the way manga ended. Chapter 18: The Discovery.

Doctor Hana Hoffman the lead scientific researcher in the field of Giants or the Titans, the Alien monsters those ravaged the Caribbeans and wreaked havoc on the coasts of Florida on these mindless killing beasts, Now stands before the representatives from the UN Security Council and the non-UNSC major troop-contributing member states of the UN.

Since the UNEC incursion through the portal and subsequent ground operations in the "Sanctuary". A name conferred to the Island by the media and the netizens as it holds the last remnants of human civilization in the Alien world. A large amount of research data and findings have been sent to the UNRIAT (United Nations Research Institute for Alien Threat) every single day. It did not take long for the scientists to be overwhelmed by the amount of information being passed forward to them in the form of photos, videos, and books, research papers acquired from the Scouting Regiment.

But a couple of weeks later, two eye-opening discoveries were made, one found by the doctors aboard USNS Mercy, the other by the Romanian Navy and PLA Navy divers on the coast of Sanctuary Island. After analyzing further, she informed her superiors and scheduled a meeting with the major UNEC members where the UNRIAT findings will be revealed.

What she held in her hands was crucial.

As she stood on the Stage of the Pan-American Health Organisation building Auditorium, she could feel the eyes on her, but this was normal for her. She had done similar events like this before.

"Esteemed members of the Council, I apologize for this unplanned summit, but our researchers have found something rather intriguing from Sanctuary Island, and despite requiring more confirmation, it is a grave enough threat that we have no time to spare."

"We have been conducting several medical tests of the natives, collecting their samples for any unknown disease and other medical science stuff you gentlemen and women know."

She took a pause.

"As well as from the titans or for some Giants, rather hard given how it is with its vaporizing factor when removed from their body. But before we get to that, there is also another key piece of information we must inform you of."

Hana turned towards the white screen, blank and boring, and turned the projector on. The audience saw that a video was pre-loaded, and waited for it to be played.

"Here, this is a video recorded by our esteemed Chinese partners, in the newly discovered harbour on the Island."

As the video played on the projected screen, the audience observed a decomposing ship, similar to steamers in the late 19th century, sunken in the deep blue waters, broken into three parts, as the Chinese divers navigated it and conducted their investigation. Several pictures of salvaged weapons or their remains from the bottom of the harbour are also present. These included rusted revolvers and remains of rifle bolts.

"From this footage, and the evidence we have received, we can say that one of the many theories which are somewhat right, that the natives have regressed in technology the massive walls still cannot be explained immediately, we can get further insight into what happened in their world."
