In Another Life

Hyejin stared at Choi Mujin' eyes while pointing a gun at him. His eyes were so cold. Those eyes which comforted her once were causing her pain now. He was the killer whom she was searching for.He killed her dad, he killed Pil-Do, he killed her.
He created Hyejin but today, Jiwoo stood before him.

"You asked me if I want revenge at any cost. I said yes but I never thought the cost would be to kill me. To kill my innocence and to create a monster inside me. A monster like you and today, this monster will be the reason for your death."

She moved forward holding her gun on her right arm and his knife on her left arm. He already had his gun pointed at him but was he ready to shoot her? No. He decided to die for her but he would never shoot her.
He never understood why but he did know he had to protect her at every cost, even if it means losing his life.

She moved closer to his table where he sat holding a gun. As she moved closer to him, she could see him putting his gun down.

Ji Woo was confused, 'what is he trying to do? I am not going to be fooled by him. I am no more his puppet. '

She was firm with her decision. No more she will fall prey to his manipulations, his tricks.

"You reckon this is not going to help. You will die today and I will fulfil my promise I made to you."
She stood holding her gun pointing towards his chest and he, well he just looked at her. His eyes were no more cold. He looked at her just the way he looked when she brought chamomile tea for him.

"You have changed Ji Woo. No more you are that girl who refused to stab me. You are ready to kill me now."

"Well, you should be happy. You killed that girl's innocence. You killed her father. How could you do this? How?"

Anger was oozing out of her eyes and then a tear slipped out of her left eye.

"It was never my choice. Rules are rules."

"You broke your rules, remember? When you came for me. To save me. You risked your cover for me. You broke your rules then why not for my father. Why?"

That was the moment Choi Mujin realised that she was different from all others in his life. She runs deep down in his veins. She captured his mind and his soul. He broke every single rule for her, just for her. She was the one who evoked something in him.
This was not love but it was no less than love. She consumed him completely and he had surrendered himself to her. Only her.

"Don't you know why?" He whispered looking at her as if she was his salvation.

For the first time, Ji woo was scared. His eyes were showing different emotions and she witnessed his eyes going from cold to something warm. His eyes were warm but she was not going to be weak again.

"You are a sick, manipulative bastard. "
She managed to speak.
Her gun was still pointed to his chest. He rose from his seat and stood before her.His fingers curled around the gun and he pulled her towards him. His left left the gun while she held it tightly. She was not going to let it go.

"Then kill me Ji Woo yah. Shoot me and take your revenge because if you won't ,then I will kill you and after that, I will kill myself. "

More tears escaped her eyes but before she could wipe them, he raised his hand and wiped her tears. Then he pushed back some of her hair strands behind her ears.

"I know you feel this too Ji Woo yah. You can also feel what we have between us but we are doomed. We were doomed from the beginning. I have done those things which I cannot revert and you need to fulfil your promise. You cannot turn now after coming this far. You were living for this day. So let's just get over it."

She gulped and looked at him determinedly. For just a second, he saw something in her eyes. Something which made his heart warm and that made him realise.
Whatever this was between them, it was never one sided.

She dropped her gun and it fell with on the ground making noise but no one was affected. They both continued to stare at each other with different emotions.
Choi Mujin stared at her with love in his eyes while she was scared, her eyes showed fear , fear for him, fear to lose him. All these years, he was her only own. Sighing, she looked at him again and now, a new emotion came over her.

No matter what, she will take revenge. She had to. This was her promise.

"In another life, I will try harder" , he said before she stabbed his knife into his chest.

"In another life, I will find you Ji-Woo yah."
He managed to speak before his eyes started drooping but he was happy, the girl succeeded finally and he did give her what he had promised.

Ji woo stared at him as his eyes started drooping. She could feel his pulse rate going down.

"In another life, I will wait for you. I wish we weren't doomed like this. In another life, I will be the one for you. I promise."

She whispered to his lifeless form.

I had posted this in a03 and now, I am posting it on Wattpad with some edits.
I won't say it was love  between Ji Woo and Choi Mujin but yes, I cannot agree them to have a father/ daughter relationship so this is my take on them.
