I cupped my ears as the sound of the chalk grazed and slammed on the chalkboard, click, screech, screech, click-click.
"Sweet jesus, why does a tiny bit of limestone cause this much PAI-" It said.
I ignored them of course, it's best to ignore them when they get annoyed or upset. I un-covered my ears and focused on the sound of my foot tapping the floor.
The snow seemed to pile up deeper and deeper outside, and so did the work in the school. All of our assignments seem to be less complex, but are being given a lot more than usual. I already had a headache from that retching sound coming from the front of the classroom.
I tried to focus more on the snow and ignore that dreaded noise.
I could hear them start to pick up their words again, "She's loo-" Quickly, I cupped my ears and sat my head down trying to ignore them. My breathing became heavier as I groaned.
Mrs. Opal stared me down. "Yara? Yara. YA-"
I sat my head up and gazed at her for a moment. "I'm sorry, Miss Opal- My headache has been bothering me a lot today." That was a lie of course, I knew not to be genuinely honest with her when she was upset. Got her tits in a bunch anytime one of her darling students wasn't in an amazing mood.
She sighed as her awful-smile spread across her face, "Sorry about that, just please try to pay attention as best as you can. okay?"
Nodding, a faint smile came upon my face. "Yes ma'am." Just a few more minutes of class and I can go to the Music room, I took a mint out of my pocket and popped it into my mouth.
"Just a few more minutes, Dammit- Why does time have to go by so slow-" The voice said, becoming impatient and agitated.
This thing is making my headache even worse. I said to myself, knowing that it could hear my thoughts anyways. It began to speak, "Did'j you say something? I could've swore I heard a little girl bitchi-"
You'll get a snack at home if you FUCKING SHUT UP. I said in response, they didn't like that I spoke back to them but I really didn't care about what they did anymore in return.
( Short Time-Skip) : 5 minutes
They've been quiet for a while, not that good of a sign but I ignored this tiny thought and drew in my notebook. A few minutes passed, I had been waiting on the edge of my seat while picking at my the end of my zip-up jacket.
The bell finally rung as it alerted the other people in the classrooms the halls began to fill up, all rushing to get to lunch and waste food.
It always bothered me how people would waste food and mind it carelessly, not that big of a deal at the thought of it at first but the more that thought floated in my mind; the more upset we became at it.
My head shot up as I grabbed my bag and as I was about to take my notebook and leave-
A figure, caught my attention.
