This story starts as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy are walking throughout the streets of Manhattan, but Peter happens to get a news report that a burglar is robbing a local bank in Harlem.

Peter Parker: Sorry Gwen, but I got to go.

Gwen Stacy: Come on Pete! What's up with you having to go all the time?

Peter Parker: It's just that- uh, J-Jameson needs me at the Bugle.

Gwen Stacy: Ugh- fine, but be careful.

Peter Parker: Bye Gwen! I'll come back, thanks.

Gwen Stacy: Bye Peter!

30 minutes pass and Spider-Man is done stopping the robbery, as he promised he would go back to meet Gwen in a Café at downtown. So as he swings throughout the city in the windy air, he happens to land on a rooftop above the Café he sees Gwen but  was shocked to see a pumpkin bomb underneath her table. He jumps down trying to warn her-

Spider-Man: Gwen! Get out of the way!

He shoots out a web hoping it would catch the bomb, but it's too late...

Gwen Stacy: What? Spider-Ma-

The bomb detonates and everyone near Gwen is flung 10 feet above the air, Spider-Man manages to web everyone to safety, but Gwen is no where to be seen.

Spider-Man: Oh no no no no! Where is she! Gwen!

Citizen #1:  Spider-Man! As the bomb detonated, there was a figure behind the smoke which was floating on a glider.

Spider-Man: Goblin!... It seems he recovered from his amnesia, which is usually a good thing but not in his case.

He looks through the wreckage and he finds a note that says-

Find me in a place that you visit everyday,

full of spirits and family members

Spider-Man: Are you kidding me? Osborn wants me to go on a scavenger hunt to find Gwen, "Full of spirits and family members?" I don't know. Wait, family members- Uncle Ben's grave!

He jumps and hurries through the buildings and skyscrapers of New York City and he finally arrives at the cemetery where his Uncle Ben was buried.

Spider-Man: Norman! I know you're here! Where is Gwen!

He shouts as the clouds thunder and the rain starts to fall.

Spider-Man: Where is she, Norman!

Suddenly, a note faintly glides down towards Spider-Man's hand-

The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout,

Down came the goblin and took the spider out!

Spider-Man: H-He's here...

Suddenly Green Goblin glides down from the thundering sky to greet his enemy.

Green Goblin: Hello Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Where's Gwen! What have you done to her!

Green Goblin: Don't worry, she's perfectly fine.

Just as Goblin finishes his sentence, he opens a gadget that shows a live recording of Gwen hanging unconscious on a mysterious bridge.

Spider-Man: Goblin!? What did you do to her!

Green Goblin: Oh nothing, except she's going to fall in 10 minutes!

Spider-Man: What!?

Green Goblin: Well, to put it simply, the ropes that are holding her, ARE GOING TO BREAK!

Spider-Man: Not if I get there in time! I'll see you later, Norman!

Green Goblin: Not so fast, Spidey!

Goblin glides towards Spider-Man as he tries to swing away and it results to both of them crashing in the nearby meadow just south of the cemetery, Spider-Man tries to electrocute Green Goblin but he dodges and the web misses him by the head. Goblin throws a pumpkin bomb right on top of Spider-Man but his Spidey-Senses alert him and he throws the bomb away using his webs.

Spider-Man repeatedly webs Green Goblin to buy him enough time to swing away, he swings out and hides in the skyscrapers of New York. He checks the clock and realizes he has 5 minutes left to find Gwen before the ropes break, Spidey remembers that there was an American flag behind Gwen and realizes that the only bridge in New York that has a flag is... THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE!
