⚠️Brief mention of blood⚠️

Y/n's POV:

After all of the kids introduced themselves they went off to do whatever teenagers do. I walked over to the sleeping Shōta and gently grabbed his shoulder to wake him up. Suddenly his scarf was wrapped around me tightly, as he shot his head up. He relaxed when he saw it was just me.

"Sorry. You scared me." He says as he releases the scarf from around me and places it back around his neck. I take a breath in.

"My fault, I should know better." I say as I offer him a hand up. He ignores it and stands up walking to the door in silence. We ended up walking next door to the teachers dorms together.

"So how did the kids treat you?" Shōta asks which surprises me since he's not normally the one to start a conversation.

"I think it went well. They asked questions, I answered, told some stories yada yada yada.  They all seem like good kids, even Bakugo, if he would drop the though act." I respond

"Huh?" Shōta stuffs his hands in his pockets.

"The Bakugo kid. He puts on a tough act. He acts like he hates everyone but in reality he does admire his classmates and care deeply about them. I'm going to have to break through to him somehow to be able to teach him more effectively though. A stubborn one he is that's for sure." I explain as we start walking up the path to the teachers dorms.

"I've known that kid for over a year now there isn't a caring bone in his body, only pride and anger." Shōta says with a sigh.

"Well maybe you've just not been looking close enough then. That kid has got heart. He reminds me of myself when I was his age." I look up and give him a smile as we reach the door.

"You can not make me believe that you where a hothead back in school." Shota deadpans.

"Well my record says differntly." i laugh "I didn't grow up in the best enviornments or around the best people. i had trust issues because of it so as a defence mechenism i would lash out people, to push them away thinking that it would keep me safe."

"so what are you saying?" Shota asked still showing no emotion.

"I'm saying that Bakugo just needs someone he can be vulnerable with. We need to break down these protective walls he has built around himself or he is going to tear himself apart because of it. Or, spend the rest of his life miserable because he has no one."  Shota nods letting it fall silent the rest of the way up to the top floors. I learned we actually live on the same floor next to each other. Granted I usually come in really late and leave really early, so i wouldn't had known he was my neighbor anyway. we say our goodnights and then walk into our seperate apartments. As i walked in i greeted Misty as I always do and began my nightly routine.

Shōta's POV:

After biding Y/n good night i stood in the hall for a minute trying to get the right key. i really do need to lable all of these. As i finally slipt the correct key into the lock I hear Y/n talking to someone. My heart squeezed at the thought of him already having a significant other but I ignored it, unlocking my door and walking in. After changing into more comfortable cloths i begin on the paperwork i have to do from a couple of criminals I brought in on my last patrol.

I am sitting on the couch, forms and criminal profiles spread all over the coffee table. I try and focus on the task at hand, but my mind keeps wondering back to y/n. I kept on thinking back to him talking to whoever is in his apartment, he seemed so happy to see them. The possibity of him having a sugnificant other was not the only thing stuck on my mind though. The afternoon in the café was also bothering me.  when y/n left in a hurry. The drastic change in his eyes and body posture. Something triggered it, something reminded him of some sort of trauma that he had to endure. On one hand I want to know about it so I can try and help, but on the other hand, he and Nemuri were right. It's not my business.
